I am a 21 y/o female with a weak bladder. I keep having to get up frequently to pee during the day and night, usually every 15-30 minutes.

Well last week I couldn't hold it and wound up wetting myself TWICE. Yes twice! I couldn't get up in time and ended up wetting my chair, the floor and my clothes. I grabbed 2 towels and tried to soak up the mess off the carpet as much as possible. Then I showered and changed. Then not even half an hour after my first accident, it happened again! My damn bladder filled so fast and emptied again before I had a chance to get to the bathroom. So I had to scrub the carpet and change and shower AGAIN.

You might be thinking I did this out of laziness. I definetly did not. My bladder contracted on me before I could move. The next morning my husband questioned me about the wet carpet and chair. I lied and said I spilled something. I know I should have owned up to it but I was embarrassed. Should I see a doctor about this? I don't want this to happen again

highflyin--Maybe you did not read the whole thing properly. I said I had 2 accidents. And I DON'T need criticism. I asked for help and advice, not to be spoken to like I'm a freaking 2-year old. I don't need snotty comments! I already have enough to worry about with this >.< And only reason I lied about it was because I was incredibly embarrassed. So get off my back.

***I am currently on Cipralex(antidepressant) and Yasmin(birth control) so I think that as well as the weak bladder have something to do with it. I will see a urologist :)

JUST a note...if you are just going to leave rude comments or give me silly answers, don't bother writing anything. I need serious advice and answers. Thank you guys :)

Let me ask a question, are you on any prescriptions or do any type of drugs?? Any thing, Birth control maybe???
That could be the cause.

I am 66 and due to a three year old medical condition have had a bit of this same problem. I have discovered it is from certain new medications. When they are stopped, the problem stops. For what ever reason they effect the muscle controlling "Permission to go". It is not fun.

Work on your Kegle exercises. Clutching the vaginal muscles will help the urinary problem. About 3 times a day at 10 each should help the problem.

But I would say you should see a Urologist.

Good Luck.

okay ignore those a****** who leave criticism for an ANSWER. From what it sounds like your anti depressant and birth control pill harbor a lot of side effects separately and now that they are "fusing together" they are causing you to have an uncontrolable bladder. I think you should see your doctor and they can give switch your medications so that when they interact the side effects wont be that detrimental.

Lying to your husband is not such a good idea. It would be best to let him know about your problems, for if you continue to lie about it, it may hurt him later on.

yes, see a doctor. over active bladder is a real condition that many people suffer from. Your doctor can prescribe medication that will help you go less often. I know it might be embarrassing to see a doctor but keep in mind they see people all day long, probably with way more embarrassing problems, and, its not your fault. If you feel embarrassed to go just dont tell him about your accidents. Just say that you have to urinate often. They should be able to help you.

Like everyone says, go see a doctor. Sometimes this can be caused by something serious. Also you should be honest with you spouse. Hiding things like this does not help your marriage.

o my goodness honey I'm so sorry that happened to you. Only a jerk would laugh. Yes you should see a doctor as soon as he/she has an open appointment. Also some prayer might help.

Urinary incontinence isn't uncommon, but there's medications readily available that your doctor can prescribe. :) You should definitely see a doctor to get it treated.
