vaporub, eat menthol candies/gums they help you breathe freely. good luck on your operation 2 years from now. =)
try nasal sprays such as otrivin, etc.
don't lie down with your head leveled with your body. always elevated your head part. try not to get too stressed also. take care.

You may have allergies. While I agree that you should see a doctor about this, you can try some over-the-counter things. Vicks Nasal Spray is great for opening up the sinuses. A word of caution, these things are addictive. You must not use them more than every 12 hours. Also, see if you can get some normal saline nose spray. This helps a great deal and isn't habit forming.

My daughter had a blocked nose til she was around 8 years old. I bought Afrin and she used it like it said to and on the second or third day she ran in my kitchen yelling that she can smell now. Only use Afrin to get in unblocked, then you need a nose spray like Atrovent or Nasonex to keep it that way. This really worked so I hope you try it. A doctor actually can help but you have to follow the directions & sometimes wait for the results. Good luck.

See a doctor you might actually be making it worse if you are an addict to nasal sprays. If you can get through 1 week without the sprays you have it made and will not believe the difference in your sleeping patterns making you more energetic through the day.

Use saline spray instead of reaching for the nasal sprays.

You may need a round of antibotics to get rid of any infection then use the saline solution.

Get tested for allergies.
I have had the same problem, and for a lot longer than you, and the test showed me I have a LOT of allergies, which is why I constantly have a blocked nose. Mind you I turned out to be allergic to so many things that there's not much I can do (tested for 26 known allergens - allergic to 25!) but your story will probably be easier.
Worth a try before surgery, don't you think?

Prescription nasal sprays, but they aren't a permanent solution and you will get addicted to them. Eat some hot peppers. That will clear you up. You should totally see your doctor, they have a sorts of things they can do if the problem is serious enough.
