When I attempt to view video on MSNBC I get a message that I need to install windows media player - I go to the site and download the product - on installation I get a message that this version of windows media technologies is incompatible with this version of windows. This is a new problem I have viewed the videos on MSNBC before without difficult. The video at Youtube or Google Video runs fine. I tried versions 9 - 10 - 11 with the same results. I deleted windows media player from my computer and attempted to reinstall - same results.

Wish you mentioned what OS you use.
Might make a difference in my answer.
Try cleaning the media player out of the registry then reinstall.

This Media Player is probably the best out there and will play just about everything, chances are they made changes and forgot to mention it to anyone.

I assume you need it to view in the browser.
