D&C 132: 61-63
61 And again, as pertaining to the law of the priesthood—if any man espouse a virgin, and desire to espouse aanother, and the first give her consent, and if he espouse the second, and they are virgins, and have vowed to no other man, then is he justified; he cannot commit adultery for they are given unto him; for he cannot commit adultery with that that belongeth unto him and to no one else.

Do you know David? He committed adultery with another man's wife. For that it is said he will not be saved with God.
Doctrine and Covenants132 :39
39 David's wives and concubines were given unto him of me, by the hand of Nathan, my servant, and others of the prophets who had the keys of this power; and in none of these things did he sin against me save in the case of Uriah and his wife; and, therefore he hath fallen from his exaltation, and received his portion; and he shall not inherit them out of the world, for I gave them unto another, saith the Lord.

Plural marriage is when the wives belong to you. Adultery is when you take what is not yours!

I laughed out loud once you pronounced the Bible teaches that a guy is to have basically one spouse. The Bible is chock crammed with examples whilst God Himself directed a guy to take greater desirable than one spouse. Even those authorized to coach plural marriage have been roundly condemned whilst they abused the regulations. David replaced into authorized to take numerous better halves, yet whilst he had Bathsheba's husband killed so he would have her to himself, that replaced into needless to say incorrect. nonetheless, the final rule is that each and every guy could have one spouse, although God did make exceptions for the duration of a few old testomony circumstances, and interior the nineteenth century. the significant element to bear in ideas is that it incredibly is now been properly over a century because of the fact the Lord final authorized plural marriage. rather our enemies can arise with something a sprint greater well timed to bash us with now!

Well, first of all, polygamy is not as fun as adultery. That element of sin and risk is removed. It's just not as exciting.

And you can't dump a wife! My 4th wife has been getting on my nevers for months now and I'm stuck with her! Sometimes I wish I had stopped at 3. But she is beautiful and just 17 and her father's a good friend, so I married her too. Hopefully we'll work through our issues.

Adultery is when someone has sexual relations with another who is not their spouse. If a man marries two women and does not have sexual relations with any women but his two wives, he is not an adulterer.
