I broke with my bf yesterday because, on a conflict he only supported his mom and let me down. She says, I should wear conservative dress if I have to marry his son.

He is still behind me. Can I reconsider him?

well you might've overreacted.

First off there's probably part truth in what his mother said( unless it really was a modest dress)
and second, no man wants to choose between his mother and his girlfriend, but maybe he felt he had more of an obligation to make his mom happy, while maybe not even agreeing with her.

who knows if you can get back together though...I mean if you were seriously considering marriage(or was that just his mom) maybe it was too big a blow for too small a thing, or maybe that issue is just the front cover of a much bigger issue. You can ask him if you like, but you'll never know from us if he'll take you back or not.

Sounds like a momma's boy. On the other hand they could be both right. The bottom line is that you have the right to dress as you want, and he has the right the decide whether he wants to be with you, you having decided to dress that way. You did say, however that it was your decision to break with him. Good luck.

Kalpana...
Please know that your heart may be broken, but it will heal with time. I know your screaming 'no, it wont ever heal, ill never love another etc'. But its true.

If you and your fella have truly split over this, and you may well reconcile, it will happen many times in your life.

I wont lie to you and say, you will find 'the one' some day, you may not, I havent and dont expect to.
Learn to love yourself first before anyone can be worthy of your love.
If his mother said that how does he feel? if he agreed with her, you are better without him.
He most certainly is not worthy of your love, you will find many who are in your life, enjoy them, love doesnt last long, enjoy it while it does.

NO leav mommas boy alone. A man will support the woman he wants his mother to respect-you would marry him and she would make your life a nightmare. I left a mommas boy alone after she was irritated with me for going car shopping with him and she used to make snide remarks tome-even in church but he didnt believe it.

Find a man who appreciates you as you are-attire and all.

Wow.

I really hope that your boyfriend realizes that he needs to support you in every situation, even when it gets hard.

If he can only be loyal to you when it's easy, then you have a problem.

If I were you, I would talk to him and tell him that it upset me that he sided with his mom instead of me and left me on my own to defend myself.

Not only that, but in what world is it anyone's mother's business what you wear?

Have fun!
