It doesn't mean to give 3ml unless the dosage of the product is 1mg per ml. You need to find the dosage of the product and do some math or call the vet for help. The poster who said to use 3ml was wrong.
One good thing is that Benadryl is a fairly safe product. It is not easy to overdose on it. So a small mistake usually won't hurt someone. I would still either do some math or call the vet and let him do the math.

well you will need to give the pup 3-1ml doses if the syringe is a 1 ml syringe....if it is a 3-ml syringe1 does is sufficient. benadryl will make the pup sleepy so he/she will be calm.
if you still are not sure about the dose go to a local independent pharmacy and they will gladly help you calculate the dose for you. i assume that you are using the liquid form of benadryl for children, if not that is what you need to give the pup.
heres a reference to go by....a teaspoonful is 5 ml--a tablespoonful is 15 ml. i hope i have helped you and answered your question correctly.

OK, working out doses is complicated. Medicine generally comes in strengths of mgs per ml. If you need to give your dog 1mg per lb bodyweight and the medicine is say, 5mg/ml then you need to give the dog 0.2ml per pound bodyweight - so if the dog weighs 3lb then you would give 0.6ml. Phew!
Ring the vet back and ask how many mls of the medicine to give. Dose rates are complicated - don't guess and risk getting it wrong!!

check the mg per pill on the box of benadryl. if its a 20 mg pill and you have a 10 pound dog, use half a pill. the amount of water it takes to mix it into the oral squirter does not matter. Neither do the ml.

we did this just yesterday. we have a toddler, so kids liquid benedryl. the vet said with her wieht,{ we were just there getting shots.] 50mg... all our dosing syrynges are in ml. or teaspoon. not mg. my husband grew up with metric. and said the are same, so i called pharmacy to check conversion....we gave her a dose of 5ml. . about 1tsp. she is 35lbs tho.... she is a big dog.... so check your pharmacy for conversion, according to weight, they will know. check with the vet again to be sure of conversion....
