what is the best way to travel to Scotland from manchester in mid october/november. I have access to a car, but not sure of the roads at this time of the year. is their a hop on off bus?, or is rail the best. We would like to see as much of the country as possible on the way. HELP!!!

I am from New Zealand so am not use to the ice on the roads, we are looking at going to Edinburgh then maybe doing a few day trips out and about.

Where about in Scotland would you like to go? The roads are just the same as in England, so no worries about using a car. You can come here by car, coach, train (to Glasgow - I think) or even fly here. Your options are limitless.

it takes about 5 hours drive, buy a sat nav. Have u considered flying to glasgow ?? and hiring a car ?
