Edit : When he first came he didn't do this at all but now he's doing this regularly for 3 years. I don't trust the vets in our country because they lie to get more money, that's why I wanted to ask it here first. He can fly without problems when we let him out although he has shortened wings so I guess there is no obvious injury.. what do you think?

how old is he? mine is being hand fed and does the same exact thing when he begs for his formula. sometimes when they are older, they regress to wanting to be handfed if they experience what they consider a mayor change(with greys that could be anything)

I have seen birds fake a wing injury. But this sounds different. How long have you had the bird?
If you have had the bird for a long time, and this is totally new behavior , then I would say he may have an injury.

You should take your grey to an avian vet immediately.
Its not worth the risk to just hope that he is OK.

ive never experieced a grey holding his wings when screaming ...mine dont scream or hold their wings so i think that holding of the wing isnt normal behaviour...there may be a physiacal injury ...but normally if they in pain they would go off thier food ...and go down hill very quickly..
