They honestly don't hurt that much if you go to a good, well known place to get it done. For me the pain was barely even a 3. All that hurt was when he had to pull the skin up a little in order to pierce it!

If you try to avoid swimming for a few weeks after and make sure to use a lot of soap and water while cleaning it then it should heal faster. I used something by band-aid brand that was used to clean cuts. It's in a long blue tube. Just work the piercing up and down to get the soap in their well then clean it really well. Also try not to mess with it a lot when you're not cleaning it.
Usually when you go to get it pierced they tell you things you can use to keep it clean and if they dont then ask them!

It will be a little sore after you get it done but that's very normal. Just try not to let anything press on it.

I got mine done a few years ago and I really love it. If you don't like it you can always just not wear the belly button ring but whenever you feel like having one just put it back in! Good luck & hope this helped. =)

I had my belly pierced a few years ago. On a scale of 1 to 10, I say it hurt about a 2. I went to a reputable piercing shop, they did not use any anesthetic, and I didn't feel a thing. It did feel a little tender later that day, and hurt when I got it stuck on my clothes occasionally!

The actual procedure was done while lying down. The piercer gripped my skin with a tool, and then just used a hollow needle to pierce my belly button. He just slipped in the barbell, and I was done! Really a very easy, quick procedure.

Belly button piercings don't hurt. Ive had mine done twice, at the top and at the bottom. They spray or wipe this stuff on your belly button, clamp the skin and put a needle through the skin with the jewel, then screw the top on a take the clamp off. You can buy cleaning stuff from the jewelers to keep it clean, as for an ankle tattoo they do hurt. Best sticking to you belly button for now so you know what the pain is like

Lol, ankle tattoo? I would imagine it to be quite painful. I have a tattoo that extends from my bicep and goes to the edge of my neck. It also covers my collar bone and part of my upper shoulder blade( cost me four hundred dollars). All I can tell you is that when you get a tattoo close to the bone it hurts the most...I pretty good sharp pain. Plus I think she kept hitting a tendon or something on part of my shoulder and it sent a shooting pain down my whole arm. On your body away from bone it's not very painful, but on the bone especially on skin already sensitive it hurts a lot.

Can't tell you much about the belly button piercing, but if this is your first tattoo and you have a low tolerance for pain you may want to choose a different area. They will most likely have to touch it up later on. So you won't have to go through the ordeal just once. And make sure your tattoo artist is talented, look at their other art first.

When I got my belly pierced they numbed it with a spray and them they clamped the skin which pinched a bit, but the actual piercing didnt hurt at all. On a scale of 1-10 I would say it was a 2 for me. I cleaned it twice a day with warm salty water for about 3 weeks. I wouldnt reccomend changing the bar until atleast 6 weeks.
good luck

Belly piercing doesn't hurt a bit. It's just a small pinch which lasts about all of two seconds. Honestly the clamp hurt me more than the actual piercing. Probably a 2 for me.

i have my ears, nose, belly button and as of yesterday a labret on the left side of my lip! And the one that hurt the most was honestly the belly button..or cartilage in my ear since it takes so long to heal.. but still it was worth it. pain is weakness leaving the body! haha but yeah just be careful when youre getting dressed or moving around bcus it could catch on your clothes and that hurts!
I give it a 6.5 on a scale of 1-10

i got mine done at the beach... the guy that did mine was totaly hot!
it didn't hurt too much. more like pressure than pain. he was done in under a min.
i was actualy flirting with him while he was doing it.
i do recommend waiting/resting a few min after doing it. i got a lil light headed for some reason.
he had me lay on the table, cleaned the area, put clasps on the upper part of my belly button to hold the skin, pierced it, slipped the hoop thru and popped the stopper on it. presto pierced!
keep it clean, don't wear tight pants or bottoms that will rub on it for a few weeks.
it hurts like a be otch if you do.
keep it clean
keep it clean
i got mine infected about 6 months after i got it done, it was so yucky but i got it healed up and have had no probs in the 5 years i've had it done
ps after healed - shop on ebay for the cutest belly jewlery!

the tongue piercing hurt more but wasn't that bad. just fyi in case that's your next one lol
