going with Toyota? I just can't see Tony driving a Toyota to victory. Last I heard, Gibbs' only comment was that their contract with Chevy is up next year, and they won't say anything else. That sounds suspicious...don't ya think?

Go Jr.>>>>

Fortress: Yeah...18th. I know, the problem is they won't say ANYTHING. Makes ya wonder...

Danks: Very interesting concept in racing. That's what the IROC was created for. But, it could be fun if you're a Driver fan, not a team fan.

As the power plants go, there is no way to know for a while. Under the provisions of their contract with Chevy, the people of JGR cannot meet directly with Toyota or any of the other manufacturers. They have had a proxy meet with them, but there has been no word yet. I doubt that we will hear anything more until it gets close to the end of the season.

They may not want to risk losing the support of chevy for the rest of the year. If you remember what happened to Bill Davis racing, you will understand why. They seriously sufferred without the manufacturer support at the end of last season.

I doubt they want to run into any of those issues.

One thing that makes me want to say that they will stick with the chevy is the use of the new engine that they have been perfecting this season. It seems almost silly to spend all that time working on the engine that will be used next year only to go to some other power plant

I think they are going to Toyota. Gibbs said a few months ago that renegotiating Tony's contract was what they wanted to do immediately. That it was of the utmost importance to do it right away. This was at the same time Toyota rumors started. I believe Tony has a Chevrolet only clause in his contract that runs through next year. I think Tony has balked on a new contract that would delete that clause. Gibbs may have convinced Toyota to accept Kyle instead of Tony. I really believe Tony will go to DEI or RCR and Gibbs will be with Toyota with Kyle.

I really hope they don't. Toyota has proven nothing in NASCAR other than they have more money than anyone else. Money doesn't equal success though. Just look at Toyotas F1 teams.

Bill Davis Racing lost Dodge support because they gave some Dodge info to Toyota to help them get ready for the truck series. I think I remember hearing they also put a Dodge engine in the Toyota truck for some testing because Toyota didn't have an approved engine yet.

Contract being up doesn't mean they are going to switch manufactures. I agree if Gibbs goes Toyota I am guessing he will very soon after be hunting for another driver to replace Tony! "like there could ever be a replacement for him" Can't see a successful team jumping manufacture ship to something unknown... Maybe once all the bugs are worked out of them more teams will switch, but next year???

I was a huge Gibbs fan when they had Bobby Labonte and Tony Stewart together driving Pontiac. When they made the change to Chevy, for some reason Bobby faltered while Tony's team seemed to get stronger. One would think they were getting the same equipment, however Bobby was in constant trouble with his ride...tires etc.
If they go to Toyota...may it go the way of the "Big Boy"

They are still in talks with Chevy. I am surprised that you didn't read that article, as it was on Yahoo! Sports a while ago. I can tell you as much as I know that they aren't going to Toyota yet. They might after Tony's contract is up with JGR in 2011.

I have heard nothing on the car sponsor but Kyle Busch is looking to go that way. We will see what the goods are. Gonna be another crazy year with a 100 driver switches. They should put the drivers name in a hat and draw them out every week and they have to drive that car with that crew. That would be fun to see if they are real drivers and can drive anything they are given!!! Always coming up with the cool ideas!!! Go DJ #44.

I did capture it on youtube.....it became super! no longer something like friendly opposition between previous friends. circulate kart racing is so relaxing...enormously once you have a NASCAR physique on the main suitable option!!! merely an opinion as constantly.
