Stop hoping uselessly! No men or women in D.C. can fix the problem regardless of their stand against illegal immigration. We have given them the opporutnity time and time again and have come up empty handed. I do not want another person to say "Oh if you vote for so and so, he or she will fix it."

If so, why has he or she not fixed it up to this point? If it is to be fixed, we the people have to do it. Ron Paul might be a cute little old man, but that is all he is. He cannot fix this system even if half of America voted for him. There is something in Washington called The Senate and The House of Representatives.

The only one who can put them in their place or remove them altogether are you and I. If you really want a change, stop barking up the tree of some little tired politician and become proactive. D.C. and state leaders had their say and more illegals are coming across now than before.

AMERICANS, TAKE YOUR COUNTRY BACK AND ACCEPT NO EXCUSES!!

I really like Tom Tancredo, but I do agree with your assessment of our critical impass with the government! If a movement is being formed, I'd like to know about it, in fact, I'm interested in most anything that will halt the flow of Hispancis from destroying our nation! I'm not saying that I approve of a militia but I do want to hear what your plans are?

I partly agree with you, and partly disagree.

You're right that the people have to demand it. But several, like Ron Paul and others, both Republican and Democrat, who have voiced their opposition to illegal immigration, can be helpful to the public in winning that battle.

In 1986, President Reagan gave what was to be a one-time amnesty to 3 million illegals, with the provision that the border was to be secured to prevent another wave.
Amnesty was given, but the Mexican border was not secured.
Now there's another 12-20 million illegals here, and I think that failure has given many voters, and supporting members of the Congress and Senate, the resolve that this has to be stopped.

I think a major victory was accomplished toward this when the American public prevented Bush's amnesty plan from passing a month or two ago.

But as you say, this is not the time to be complacent, it's time to push for securing our borders and stopping the illegal flow.

I think a bill for building a double-fence along the Southern border should pass very quickly, in the current climate. This too is more likely, because the fence has been effective at the San Diego border, and illegals had to move their crossings to the less secured Arizona and New Mexico border.

But yes, it's up to us to press for it every step of the way, and not trust election of one candidate to magically solve the illegal immigration problem.

The part I don't understand, in your question, is what YOU are suggesting we do? "The only one who can put them in their place or remove them altogether are you and I" and "Take back your country" and "accept no excuses" sound great--but what does that MEAN? It's illegal to shoot people. It's illegal to abduct people yourself, even to then drive them back to the border (in either case, imagine the very valid repercussions were you to shoot or abduct a citizen by accident?). Or are you talking less violent suggestions like exposing businesses that hire illegal immigrants and boycotting them or pressing charges, or maybe volunteering your own time to the INS to find and cite and legally deport illegal immigrants?

Without clarifications, your answer is as useless and full of empty promises as those of the politicians you cite. The problem still remains unsolved.

True, no single man can change everything, but one man can bring new ideas that others in congress don't want you to know about...and if we are behind him a 100% when he truly needs it and people know it is correct they will follow him, as well as make their representatives follow him. It's no easy task, but there are some leaders in the past who have done this. It's not impossible.

I absolutely agree.People also have to become informed on what is the CAUSE of a problem before the problem can be fixed. That's why I always say don't hate, debate.I learned many things about our system by LISTENING to BOTH sides.I also found out by doing this that we aren't as separated on issues as it may seem. Now we just need the communication skills to make our voices heard in unison.

We definitely can't fix things with the idiots that are there now. 4 more years of a pro-amnesty president will cause the destruction of our country.

It is our responsibility to vote for people that won't continue forcing destructive elements into our laws. TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY!

there americans who are making minimum wage $5.15 and trying to support their children. There are people who are sick but can't afford to get health care...or if they do have helthcare, they still can't afford the treatment. Social Security is on the decline. Schools in innercity can't afford books. Anymore reasons why immigration issue is taking a back seat? Oh, and there's this thing in Iraq that Bush has got us into...you know...the rest of the world besides US. Unless ur one of those "**** the neighbor" types.
And if you think immigration is taking jobs...did you know (the one thing bush should get credit for) unemployment is down? Take the country back?? From who? We are a country made from immigrants. The founding fathers were illegal immigrants (ask those brits who thought this land was theirs). We had to fight them to legally "steal" this land. Who has this country? Mexicans? Give me a break. If you want to rid mexicans, get rid of that idiot gonzales from the congressional hearings.

nice suggestion and i totally agree with you, but how do we start in being "proactive"??? all you gave is a rant, now i want to know HOW! im willing to take some action, just tell me HOW because just being against illegal immigration is already hard enough, being called a racist and all by all the pro illegals.

I agree and that's why I'm going to VOTE for a democrat, either OBAMA or CLINTON. You should too.
