I have known many people who have believed in god and and said just that....that they hate God.
I personally have the believe that this is either an act of defiance by someone who truely does not understand the how and the why of it all.
Usually, these people are disillusioned due to some type of abuse or from a situation where basic needs were not met.
And when you grow up hearing "jesus saves" or "god saves" then they start to wonder why jesus or god didnt save them...

Just my thoughts.....only one humble pagan voice.

blessings to you and yours

They don't. Atheists tend not to hate something they don;t believe in. Christians that attempt to shove their beliefs down their throats? Now that's another story. If you need more answers, just type why do atheists hate God in the search for questions box- this question has been asked and answered thousands of times.

Gee...you just made that up didn't you?

MOST non believers do not say that... I think most of us just feel neutral or indifferent. And see right through it when people like you make statements like that. It is an insult to our intelligence to suggest we hate what we don't even believe in. I do get tired of religion and all the shenanigans, but I don't hate your 'god'.

Because we're sick and tired of being either spat upon or being told were wrong and we need to convert by those who tout the name of god (especially the ones who want to feel good about themselves by "saving people"). I have enough respect not to attack everything you believe in and stand for and tell you that you need to change your mind cause you are wrong, so could someone please reciprocate here?

Matthew 6:44

practice what you preach for once.

by the way, we don't hate your God, just what you do in his name. If he exists I bet he is shaking his head at how you guys have messed up everything he tried to accomplish for mankind, and for him, well that just makes it even worse.

That is the Key.....They do not KNOW HIM! If They did, They would soon Find out, He Is their Best friend and Loves them Unconditionally! No Other LOVE ON EARTH LIKE THE LOVE OF GOD! He PAID A HORRIFIC PRICE FOR THEM!

They really do not hate gos so much as his dangerously deluded followers. If god was real he would deserve to be hated. What a totalitarian nut case!

I'm an Atheist and though I say 'Oh my god' I never say that I hate him... I've never heard anyway say 'I hate God' as a matter of fact.

As atheists do not believe in god they would not say that they hate him as you rightly point out.

You don't have to believe in God. As it says in the Bible [Romans 8:7] we are naturally hostile toward God; we are his enemy and hate him.
