i've noticed bugs on my cat's neck (probably other places as well, but that was the only place i saw since it's hard to get her to sit still) in the past few days but she doesn't seem to be too bothered by them. she's an indoor cat but we have 2 outdoor cats as well, which also don't seem to be bothered.
ths bugs are black and not too big, but much different than pictures i've seen of fleas and larger.
so, should i be worried? if they aren't fleas.. then what am i supposed to do?
if they aren't fleas, what else could they be? just some random bug that has decided to nest in my cat's fur?
if so, what can i do?

it's just strange because they aren't itching at all or anything, not even showing signs of anything bugging them.

It does sound like fleas...yuck. You should act quickly if your cat comes indoors. My neighbors house has fleas. I found out because their son has red spots all over his legs. We asked him why and he said fleas in his bed. They multiply fast. I read that over 90% of fleas live in the house and only 5-10% live on the pet. Sorry, not to make you nervous.

99% likely they are fleas. Fleas do not always cause animals to scratch like mad, it depends how senstive they are. Severe infestations can cause anaemia, and it's not too late for any of your cats to develop flea allergic dermatitis, which is horrible. You need to get rid of the fleas, they transmit tapeworms - and are gross!!

Get a product like Frontline from your vets, and treat all the cats. It's a spot on that you apply to the skin on the back of the neck once a month. You should also really spray your house as well, as fleas on the animal will be laying eggs that drop off and hatch in your home.

That sounds like fleas. Use Advantage. You put the drops on the neck of the cat and it kills off the fleas.

some cats aren't bothered by flea bites but you will be when they start munching on you. get some flea collars or the liquid stuff you put down their backs. I had a cat who never scratched a bit and she loved sleeping on my bed, then I started waking up with itchy red bumps on my legs...yes, they were flea bites...fleas also come in different sizes...

I have a sure solution...first ...clean your house because it's infested also. Then give the cats a bath. Clean equals no pests.
