I'll give the best answer I can and I hope it suffices! :o)
You are quite young, I've never heard of anyone entering the temple for their endowments until they are at least nineteen. That said, here's the answer to your question:
Within the walls of the temple are very sacred, ancient and special ordinances. Great things are taught there. I love math and I think that would be the easiest thing for me to use to explain what I'm trying to say.
In elementary school you first learn numbers, then adding, then multiplication then long division then fractions then basic algebra then geometry, etc. Eventually, as you learn and grow in the feild of mathematics, you will begin to be taught calculus and other higher maths.
Now, the missionaries taught you the numbers. You should now be learning addition or something. :o) The Lord said in The Book of Mormon (2 Nephi 28:30) and in the Book of Isaiah (Isaiah 28:10) that He will teach us "line upon line, precept upon precept." This means that the Gospel is the same as mathematics, in a sense. We must learn bit by bit.
So...the reason people are asked to wait for a period of time is because they must be taught the basics and even a little more before they can understand what is taught in the temple. Learning something before you are ready can cause one to push away from it (like if somebody tried to teach a ten year old calculus it would scare the poor child away from math). So, the Lord waits until a person is ready before allowing them entrance into the higher ordinances of the temple. Be patient and don't try to jump too far ahead and you will be glad you did, I promise.
There is no set time limit for attending the temple. Some people who don't get married and don't go on a mission go quite early. Some who are in a similar situation don't go for years. Prepare dilligently and it will come. If you pray and ask the Lord for guidance, I wouldn't be surprised if you were able to go one year after your baptism. But don't get discouraged if the answer in no right off. We all must have faith that the Lord knows what He's doing. :o) He knows you better than you know you...
I can't think of anything else to say. I hope that makes sense, I've tried to follow the promptings given me while I wrote. It isn't perfect but it should give you the general idea.
Stay strong and never give up, even in the face of great temptation! The Lord loves you! Satan doesn't and will do everything to keep you out of that temple (it is actually kind of interesting to watch how obviously he tried to keep new converts from the blessing of the temple...)
Feel free to e-mail me if you have any more questions! :o) Don't forget to talk to your bishop! He isn't perfect but he can always help, it seems.

1 year after conversion is the rule, but there is also a question of maturity and personal preparedness. There is no rule in the book that says mariage, mission or age 25. It really is more a question of where you are at in already living the standards you commit to live in the temple. Those are covenants that you talk to your Bishop about when you begin to feel a desire to go to the temple. You and your bishop will be able to figure out when you are ready for such a step. Most significantly, though, you should know that the blessings and spirit of the temple are just as valid when doing baptism as they are when performing the other ceremonies. Your personal worthiness is what dictates the power of the Temple experience, not the location within the temple. THe difference is the amount of knowledge that you receive in each service. And since you are always accountable for your knowledge, you want to be sure that you are prepared to commit to receiving it.

I see a lot of answers but in truth the only thing you need to know is that one yes you can go one year after you are baptized and reach the age of 18 but I also think that decision is up to your Bishop and Stake president. Don't worry about it, it is a big step for a new convert. Some of the covenants you make are hard to live up to for a none married person. Your bishop will most likely ask you if you want to take the temple prep classes that is how you know he thinks you are ready. However as you see in your answers it is customary fore a young woman to go through with her husband and if she is not married before the age of 25 then the Bishop will often ask her if she want to go with out a husband. Good luck but don't push your church experiences to hard the Lord will give you all you can handle with out wanting more. Oh yes and if he does want you to go before the age of 25 it may be because he is going to call you to serve a mission.

Let me try and help. The things you learn in there are really quite basic. No wild secrets... But you do enter into several covanants and from that time foward you commit to wear the temple garment as a sign of the covenant you make. Missionaries need to go because the covenants are perfect for missionary life and later, married life. But you need not be burdened tith the extra responsibilities prematurely. I'm not sure you must wait till exactly 25. I think its between u and your bishop.
Chicken dancer... I have a special dislike in my soul for extortionists. That question was a funny question that is really pretty tame and harmless. I would hope you dont miscalculate by deliberately trying to hurt someone. Dealing with that type of behavior is my specialty.

You can go through the temple after 1 year of your conversion but most women don't go through till marriage or if they choose to serve a mission. I have never heard the age 25 thing though......i was actually asked when i turned 21 if i thought about going through myself. But i decided to wait.....you must feel ready to go through the temple and i have always been told it means a lot more to you if you are a little older or until you are getting married. You can do baptisims for the dead though you just need to get a recommond from your bishop.

The Bishop, Stake Pres, and yourself need to make sure you're ready. Wonderful promises are made in the Temple and the Spirit is so strong you feel like you're glowing. But these promises are real, and although you may not remember everything that you learn or hear it's important to make sure you are at a point in your life that you can say "yes i am ready"
good luck though. It is so wonderful. I love going to the Temple and helping the youth with baptisms or going with my wife to do an endowment session. Although we haven't gone since our son was born... we'll have to see how that'll work.

I am a former Mormon but I can answer this.
You can enter the temple after a year after converting. You will have to take some special temple preperation classes.
I did this.
Your age does not matter. But be prepared to take on some commitments, such as special undergarments to be worn at all times except sports. And special "rules" or covenants to be obedient to. You will be asked periodically if you are keeping these "rules". Your right to enter the temple can be stripped away if you are not following through just right.

this someone is misinformed, you are found worthy case by case from a Bishop. If you want a less official answer from non-bishop ask for the 5 temple interview questions.
For those Non-LDS. Temple is not church, everyone is welcome to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. Temples are so sacred, like the OT arc of the covenant type stuff. We ALL lived before the world was created, as spirits. In that stage of our eternal life we made covenants. case by case, but some may involve temple work. New covenants are made at the Temple in this stage of our eternal life, to effect the next stage[heaven]. I'm revealing this to ya'll so you see it's not a typical meeting-house & to explain why it requires a special pass issued by Bishop.

My daughter's boyfriend is Mormon and we were talking about this the other day. Unless you are pure, you cannot go into the Temple. Now what they base pure on, I am not sure.
That is why if they marry, I could not go into the Temple, because I am not Mormon and therefore not pure.
So, I would suggest you talk to someone and ask these important questions, I am sure they can explain them, but I know my daughter's boyfriend doesn't go to Temple, he goes to Church, which is different, but I didn't want to bug him too much to ask about it all at once.

You can do baptisms after you've been a member for 1 year. You can't go through to recieve your endowments until you either go on a mission or get married. But you CAN do baptisms. If you have more questions about this, please feel free to email me i.msodone@yahoo.com or my email link on my profile here (it takes you to the same place.) This is more of a sacred matter that I'd rather discuss outside of the negative group of anti's here!
