Go to your local Walgreens or similar large drug store and check out what's available on the shelves. Somewhere on the package it should say whether the color is can be washed out or not. By the way, there's no such thing as permanent hair coloring because eventually your natural color will start to grow out.

Hair dyes come in generally three different levels of intensity:
Hair spray-on color that comes out in 2 to 3 washes, medium color that lasts 10-15 washes, and permanent hair color that never washes out but tends to fade with time. With permanent dyes, you'll never exactly lose the color in the hair that gets dyed, but your natural hair color WILL grow back in.

If you want to dye your hair but are afraid about it becoming permanent, get a level 2 dye. I believe the brand I see most often in that level is "Nice N' Easy", but I could be lying to you there... :]

Check your local drugstore for the brands they carry, but as long as you check the label on the box, it will tell you level 1, 2, or 3. The one you're looking for is 2.

Good luck!
