...After the death of my husband over 5 yrs ago, and I was left with a slew of bills to try and pay plus finish raising our son alone....I shook my fist at the Heavens...but what a loving God have we...He took my clenched fist and turned it into a raised hand in Praise...

Psalm 61:3-4
For you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the foe.
I long to dwell in your tent forever
and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.

Hi,
Yes. A long long time ago and this was an important time for my spiritual development. As a child I was very religious, attended church every week, went on to teach the youngsters as I grew older and I knew nothing other than Christianity. When I was 19 (just after getting married) my 14 year old sister had an accident which left her paralysed. I couldn't believe this could happen to such a loving, caring person and I was angry with God.
For the next ten years I would say, I did a lot of soul-searching and looked into different religions. As a consequence I have been at peace with my own beliefs ever since and God is with me every day.
My sister went on to do University courses; she is so philosophical and fascinating company. She accepts her accident as something that has made her into the person she is today.
To 'take refuge in the shelter of your wings' is a beautiful quote. But despite my belief in God, a sheltered life is something few of us are likely to experience.

I don't remember the clenched fist part, but I do remember the distant part, all my fault.

I remember when The Passion came out and I went to see it, I had a new resolve. After all the crap that Mel Gibson must have heard about what he had done, I hope that he knows what a great service he did for so many Christians by making that movie.

I remember even during the time of my distance from God, I could feel Him. He was still there the whole time. He didn't forget me, and I could not forget Him. What a time I wasted.

But now I have gone through a spiritual explosion. God comforts me every night I focus on him. He has kept me from certain disaster, and has led me to greater things and spiritual content.

Psalm 61:3-4 fits me as a child to who I am today... thanks

Only one time for a short time was I angry, because when I was a child, I felt in some way so alone, no one that wanted to care for me. What I ascertain as I reflect back, I see God was always there, his arms were around me protecting me, especially the spirits looking over me as guards. No one wanted the job, so God was my loving Father standing by my side, God was my teacher, protecting me, and guide me. He is the only one that I can truly trust, I know this by experience.

do not stop believing. Pray to God for help and study the Holy Bible for guidance. all of us have tough patches in existence. We p.c.. ourselves up, and grow to be nearer to God. carry out a little issues to help sparkling your head. Take a stroll, meditate, write, consult with somebody (a minister, possibly). do not turn faraway from God, and are not getting indignant at him. Get indignant at devil, particularly.

Yes, I have been so angry, but never stopped praying, I continued praying, maybe more so than usual. I know that the lessons we learn through the difficult times are the best lessons.

God Bless you and your son.

I have many times been extremely upset over things that have happened in my life. However, my viewpoint is that we are here to LEARN SOMETHING... therefore, my prayer is usually "Please God, whatever it is that I have to learn from this, please help me to learn it quickly, because I can't take much more of this."
