getting a tattoo requires thought, understanding why, then go
out and get it...life is short . . . do it!

If you want it...go for it! I've loved tattoos since I was 3 and I'm intending to get one as soon as I'm legal. I don't think there's anything wrong with it. And what you have in mind sounds pretty cool. Don't worry about being 65 years old with a tattoo. Think of all the years you'll be able to enjoy it...who cares what it will look like, it will be a part of you!

If you can't see yourself with a tattoo when your 65 I wouldn't do it. I myself love mine, and figure there's a lot I DONT want to see of myself when I'm 65 so whats a few tattoos gonna hurt, besides it will give the girls at the nursing home something to talk about when I'm 85. Do what you want, your the only one to thank/blame if you like/don't like it in the end anyway! Good luck, make the decision that's right for you.

I personally do not like tattoos on my own body. I never, ever plan on getting a tattoo.
If you are not completely comfortable with the idea of getting a tattoo, then I would have ot say don't get it. As we all know, the body we have at 25 is very different than the one we will end up with eventually.
This is strictly my opinion.

if you really want it, then i say go for it. and my theory on "what is it gonna look like when i'm 80" is, your gonna look just as bad as the tattoo, so why does it matter. some things wont stay perfect forever.
plus i think its even better that it would be for your family. that way a part of them would always be with you no matter where you'd go.
but dont worry about what its gonna look like in the future. if you want it that bad, the dont let anything stop you. especially something thats not gonna happen for a really long time.
good luck :)

First of all who cares about everyone else's opinion. You were born alone and you die alone what does it matter what other people think of you? Are they going to kill you because of what you did to your own body? Well i sure hope not. But honestly it does not matter what people think of it. If it means something dear to you then go for it, as long as you are 100% sure that it is something that you want for the rest of your life. Plus if its on your back no one will really see it anyway, well of course unless you take your shirt off a lot. But the people who accept what you do to your body no matter what, accept you for you, and those are the people you want to keep around! But i do warn you tattoos can be addicting! Good luck!

I think he will be really nice. As you said its about your family so even when your 65 at least you can look at it and remember your family. Ive got m daughters name on my back in a flower and i don't regret having that done as i know she will always be apart of me. Its your tattoo and your decision

If this is your first tattoo, you might want to consider getting a smaller one some place else. You need to experience the pain before you decide to put your name on your back. I have 3 tat's... one on my toe, lower back and shoulder. The lower back was worse than child birth!! Just a suggestion :-)

tattoos is an alright thing as long as you don't get something stupid that you will regret for the rest of your life. but since you're getting your last name tattoo, don't worry about regreting that cus it shows how much respect you got for your family name(:

Dont worry about anyone elses opinion on tattoos - do what you want to your body. However, if you cant see yourself with tatts when you are 65, you may want to reconsider. Tatts are wonderfully forever!

I'm very pro-tattoo.. I say get it. If it means so much to you, then do it. But my advice to you is find a way to make it more original... The idea you had is a little common; not saying it's a bad idea, but find a way to make it more unique.
