If they want foot baths, then let the muslims pay for it out of their own pockets. Why should we make exceptions for muslims when other religions are not allowed in schools. I call this double standarded. I personely don't think it should be allowed in school. This is a place of learning, not a mosque. If they want to bath their feet to pray then they need to go to their mosque.

lol gee that is very intolerant of you.... and I'm sure if they could get it approved they would pay for it assuming we even needed a "foot bath".

It is part of their religious obligation to pray 5 times a day, a few of those prayers may fall in during school hours. I agree with you that school is a place of learning but I do disagree that they shouldn't be allowed to pray in school.

As long as they do not disrupt class (they can quietly excuse themselves, make wudu, and pray without disturbing anyone else) they should be allowed to pray.

You are not being forced to wash and pray so why do you even care?

** Only males are obligated to pray Dhur prayer in the mosque on Fridays. The Other prayers are not required to be said in a mosque.

The ideally suited court docket has held that a Christmas tree isn't a non secular image, yet rather an earthly image. I haven't any problem with that decision, as a liberal. religious lodging, such because of the fact the footbaths you confer with, have long been upheld via the courts. I additionally haven't any problem with genuine looking religious lodging. be careful the way you categorize people’s ideals. The ACLU, case in point, has fought for the rights of evangelical Christians to evangelise on the sidewalks of the Strip in Las Vegas. the guy rights being secure could analyzed in context. additionally the information of the Seattle airport controversy have been that a close-by rabbi wanted a Menorah additionally displayed and the reaction of the Seattle airport became to do away with the Christmas trees. That became merely stupid.

So you are saying that you want students to leave school and go to a mosque every time they are required to pray? That makes no sense.

One San Diego elementary school was even giving special prayer time for muslim students(http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=56945)
The amazing thing is that the ACLU never even challenged it. If that same school would have offered christian prayer, the ACLU would be in there so fast it would be mind boggling.
