With proper guidelines, using faith-based organizations to acheive a goal that can't otherwise be acheived can be appropriate. Same logic with race-based organizations, sex-oriented organizations, and business/labor-based organizations.

In some cases, faith-based organizations are the only ones willing to tackle a problem. In my community, every homeless shelter is founded and run by a faith-based organization. I have no problem allowing government funding in an area not otherwise addressed by the "secular" government bodies. Same with hospitals.

Guidelines simply need to be enforced to prevent that particular organization from descriminating against those of opposing viewpoint while performing the contracted service, and from promotion of a viewpoint that is not legally allowed in the performance of a government contract.

Faith based aid is non-profit groups providing aid that are based on a religious institution. Churches, if they are doing their job, are always providing aid in their communities, vicinities, and abroad. The government has no business providing aid of any sort, anyway. That should be left up to the generosity of individuals and groups, secular and religious. It is not the governments job to help people. It is the governments job to settle disputes, prevent corruption, and punish the immoral.

In Germany, they pay something called Church-Taxes. The only way out is leaving Church.
This is why I think it's not a good idea for the Government to fund Churches.
I tell you what the Government should fund: HEALTH CARE.

Under this president I am sure it is already happening. Look at sex-ed. Now if a school wants government funding they must only teach abstinence.
Theocracy is dangerous and we must not let the ideas of brotherhood cloud that. Yes, a lot of churches do a lot of good, but that doesn't change their close minded unchanging ways.
