Yes he is. And that's just another way of saying God is reality, and that God is the ultimate power in the universe.

I notice your question attracted the usual guys saying if God is really love why is there suffering in the world.

A lot of the suffering is caused by using our free will in "less than wise" ways, but there is a lot of suffering that isn't too.

I don't know why there is suffering in the world. But even with all the pain and anguish in the world, with all the pain I have had myself in my life, there's something that won't shut up in my heart, telling me that God is love, and that this incredible power that made the whole freakin universe -- loves little doofus me.

We already have a word for love. It's "love." To call "love" god is as silly as calling a rock a "doctor." It doesn't make any sense what so ever.

God is a fictional character.
Love is an emotion.

Why in the world would you want to equate them? What purpose could it possibly serve to call something a name that it's clearly not?

It's a violation of the most basic logical axiom, identity. It doesn't get any more silly.

Yes and No!

Yes God is Love.

No because God is more than Love He is also Justice, and to separate God's Love from His Justice is to give an incomplete description of who God is.

No. That's a relatively recent view of God. Every culture's god has been a god of war--including Christians'. Any healthy conception of god has to take into account the evil and violence in the world. If this subject interests you, I'd read a book called Damien by Hermann Hesse.

No, god is clearly hate.

Apparently if you don't accept jesus (god) as your savior, you will go to hell. Since fully 2/3rds of the human race does not accept this, then the majority of all humans go to hell because god has made the rules. He hates us, without doubt.

Oh wait, god doesn't exist, forget that.....

Judging by the Old Testament, I would have to say the opposite is true.
