Some fish have been known to have high levels of mercury. Salmon is considered to have low levels. However, the mercury acts as a posion within the bloodstream and does major damage. I wouldn't take the chance. The FDA states that no more than 2 x a week would probably be safe for low mercury fish. This site I am including tells you more about which salmon are better and about the effects of mercury.

RE:
Is it unhealthy to eat Fresh Alaskan Salmon everyday?
Well maybe not everyday, but if we were to eat non farmed Salmon like 2-4 times a week, someone told me this has too much mercury. Is that true?
I don't eat any other meat then fish... and I love salmon.

From a blog source, that specifically talks about the differences between Alaskan salmon, farm-raised, and wild salmon.
Source: http://www.dribin.org/dave/blog/archives/2004/06/
"As if it's not hard enough to watch what you eat these days. It turns out that the healthy salmon filet, rich in omega-3 fatty acids, has a downside, too. Ok, the salmon itself does not have a downside, but how it's raised does. Most farm-raised salmon is not safe to eat more than once a month. It turns out farm-raised salmon are containimnated with many industrial chemicals, including PCBs, dioxins, and mercury. All are so contaminated that if you eat them once a month or more, your chance of cancer increases 1 in 100,000. So what to do? Eating wild salmon is one option. Unfortunately, it's a lot more expensive: $15/pound vs. $6/pound for farm raised. You also have to watch the source of the wild salmon. Chinook from Alaska is just as contaminated as some farmed species. Of course, the increase in cancer is small enough you may not care. In fact, if you drink diet soda, I'd be more worried about that. And salmon is probably still better for you than processed foods, and even red meat (since red meat may increase the risk of colon cancer). I don't eat salmon that often, so I'll just buy the good stuff. It's not gonna bankrupt me. But for someone who has decided to eat salmon multiple times per week, you may want to think about adding a little fish variety to your menu."

Yes it is risky to eat that much salmon. There are high levels of mercury in wild fish which is why they tell pregnant women not to eat seafood and fish. I think I read that once a week is ok for salmon though.

I spend a lot of time on rivers, and follow the issues related to mercury content. I've read reports from Division of Fish and Wildlife for rivers in the Lower 48 (continental US) that indicate one should limit fish intake there. I've read or heard nothing about fish taken offshore Alaska and Canada.
Keep doing your homework. Me, if I were still in Alaska (left to join Army in '96) I'd be eating the salmon. Healthiest animal to eat that I know of, other than caribou and moose.
Stay a part of the movement to contain mercury and other contaminants. Keep in mind the world is getting smaller. This is why some of us are against development and drilling in the Arctic Wildlife National Refuge. You continue to drill and develop without limits Alaskan and Canadian wilderness, you risk contaminating the last environment left with minimal tainting

You can inject parasites. They live often in fish and other foods. Anything thats not well done cause eventually make you sick. Even if frozen. Freezing it doesnt kill germs. It stops the spread of bacteria, it doesn't kill the bacteria. So make sure that the food you eat is well done.

Poster was dead on about eating wild salmon as opposed to farm raised.....with the dyes injected into farm raised salmon, I would avoid them like the plague.
