How can christians explain as well as god beleivers the cruelties of God if he is real. Except for muslims maybe, because in there culture in the middle east many of this is acceptable.
When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)
When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT
Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)
As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace. If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor. But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town. When the LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town. But you may keep for yourselves all the women, children, livestock, and other plunder. You may enjoy the spoils of your enemies that the LORD your God has given you.(Deuteronomy 20:10-14)
If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her. (Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NLT)
Thus says the Lord: 'I will bring evil upon you out of your own house. I will take your wives [plural] while you live to see it, and will give them to your neighbor. He shall lie with your wives in broad daylight. You have done this deed in secret, but I will bring it about in the presence of all Israel, and with the sun looking down.'
Then David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the Lord." Nathan answered David: "The Lord on his part has forgiven your sin: you shall not die. But since you have utterly spurned the Lord by this deed, the child born to you must surely die." [The child dies seven days later.]2 Samuel 12:11-14 NAB)
"At that time the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jephthah, and he went throughout the land of Gilead and Manasseh, including Mizpah in Gilead, and led an army against the Ammonites. And Jephthah made a vow to the LORD. He said, "If you give me victory over the Ammonites, I will give to the LORD the first thing coming out of my house to greet me when I return in triumph. I will sacrifice it as a burnt offering."
"So Jephthah led his army against the Ammonites, and the LORD gave him victory. He thoroughly defeated the Ammonites from Aroer to an area near Minnith – twenty towns – and as far away as Abel-keramim. Thus Israel subdued the Ammonites. When Jephthah returned home to Mizpah, his daughter – his only child – ran out to meet him, playing on a tambourine and dancing for joy. When he saw her, he tore his clothes in anguish. "My daughter!" he cried out. "My heart is breaking! What a tragedy that you came out to greet me. For I have made a vow to the LORD and cannot take it back." And she said, "Father, you have made a promise to the LORD. You must do to me what you have promised, for the LORD has given you a great victory over your enemies, the Ammonites. But first let me go up and roam in the hills and weep with my friends for two months, because I will die a virgin." "You may go," Jephthah said. And he let her go away for two months. She and her friends went into the hills and wept because she would never have children. When she returned home, her father kept his vow, and she died a virgin. So it has become a custom in Israel for young Israelite women to go away for four days each year to lament the fate of Jephthah's daughter." (Judges 11:29-40 NLT

Can you explain about how after the 10 commandments he includes treatment about slavery and clearly approves of it?
If you buy a Hebrew slave, he is to serve for only six years. Set him free in the seventh year, and he will owe you nothing for his freedom. If he was single when he became your slave and then married afterward, only he will go free in the seventh year. But if he was married before he became a slave, then his wife will be freed with him. If his master gave him a wife while he was a slave, and they had sons or daughters, then the man will be free in the seventh year, but his wife and children will still belong to his master. But the slave may plainly declare, 'I love my master, my wife, and my children. I would rather not go free.' If he does this, his master must present him before God. Then his master must take him to the door and publicly pierce his ear with an awl. After that, the slave will belong to his master forever. (Exodus 21:2-6 NLT)

in exodus 22 laws about repayment 4-5
He must pay for what he stole. If he owns nothing, he will be sold as slave to pay for what he has stolen. If the stoeln animal, whether a cow, a donkey, or a sheep, is found alive in his possession, he shall pay two for one."
HOWEVER CONTINUING ON HERE IS WHERE IT GETS WEIRD!"If a theif is caught breaking into a house at night and is killed, the one who killed him is not guilty of murder. But if it happens during the day, he is guilty of murder" What kind of law is that? how does the time of day justify the act/crime that has been commited? Or what about this law
Exodus 21, 32- 33
"If the bull kills male or female slave, its owner shall pay the member of the slave thirty peices of silver, and the bull will be stoned to deaf"
WTF!!! he doesnt care about the person and what kind of justice or moral is this!

you have mis reaad uet 22 , 28-29 be cause it says if a man is caught raping. And also how does having sex with a young girl and paying for through her father without her consent justify the way her father sold her off as a cheap sex slave? so he can just rape any girl and pay the father money to own her as a wife? what kind of crap is that? by that logic pedofiles are allowed to rape people in the street and pay the father money to be with the young child or girl forever and own em.

also duet 22 is not laws on marriage. Its laws on sexual purity. Also your"qoute" wherever you got that from still doesn't sayanything about the girl giving consent. All it takes is for him to go up to her, "take her"and have "sexual relations" she doesn't have to give consent according to this it never does. So how is she giving consent it's not required that she gives her opinion. Are you supporting pedofiles? what the hell is wrong withthe catholic and christian churches. Also the money doesn't go to the girl it goes to her father. Its's obviously a sex scandal either way. even with your loose interpretation whever you got the from pro pedo person

you also admit that god allowed slavery if he didn't stop it. How does more slavery justify slavery? and why are you trying to justify slavery.
you also seem to ignore the part in
exodus 21. 20-22
"if a slave owner takes a stick and beats his slave. whether it is male or female, and the slave dies on the spot, the owner is to be punished. but if the slave does not die for a day or two, the master is not to be punished. The lost of property is punishment enough"
What kind of crap is that? they think loosing "property" is more important then a person dying? And the only difference for the justification of the punishment is how long it takes for the person to die does not ignore the fact the slave owner commited the crime. And you tell me that, this is fair treatment. He can poisin the person or have them bleading to deaf. how does how long it takes justify murder. And if it takes longer, wouldn't it be more painfull?

a underaged girl it is still promoting prostitution because the father is acting as the pimp selling his daughter out. And the daughter has no choice but to simply follow what they say. And it says nothing on your vary loose interpretation because im pretty sure in most bibles it says rape directly. Maybe you are trying to change the words around.

so by this logic about davids son dying and not david himself. Are you saying that every soldiers son should die because there father has sinned? So i guess by this logic if you commited a sin and you had a baby/ The babu should die is that what you are trying to say? for what? Also you try justify murdering babies because they are pure so they will go to heaven. Are justifying the murders of babies? because babies are pure it does not matter if they die? how would you like it if you had a new born baby and it had to die because the father of the child commited a sin? how does that sound? Does that sound like justice. Murdering babies to save a person who sinned and commited crime? wow you are insane. The baby has done nothing wrong. You would only get such a excuse from a person like you or the bible

what are you talking about. The laws of moses were passed down by god in the story, Either way it is still insane God would send these laws to God allowing slavery and the owner getting away with the murder of a slave if it dies in 1 or more days. how insane is that.

"Genesis 38:16-24 Tells a very interesting story of a man named Judah whom lived with his widowed daughter in law. His daughter in law was grieving and wearing the veils of mourning which Judah (a rather stupid man) mistook for the clothing of a prostitute. He ended up impregnating his daughter in law and she left the city. On a later date Judah sees the young woman again and demanded she be burned for being a prostitute (I like how only the woman is punished when THEY BOTH engaged in the sexual act). It wasn’t until Judah recognized the woman as his daughter in law and she was with his child, that he decided not to kill her. Basically, Judah can commit incest, use a prostitute (in his mistaken perception), and impregnate a MUCH younger woman, yet he thinks she is the one deserving of death."

Deuteronomy 20:13-15 Kill all the men and boys in the cities that God “delivers into your hands,” but keep the women for raping.
Leviticus 21:9 Explains that unchaste daughters of priests must be burnt to death. What about his unchaste sons? Of course this isn’t even answered in the Torah, we are to assume yet again that men have the power to do as they wish and a woman must suffer the punishment for BOTH of them
Exodus 21:7 God not only sanctions selling ones daughter into slavery, but he also gives out laws on how it should be done

The Biblical God is worse than Hitler. Unfortunately, most Christians have never read the ENTIRE Bible. They believe only the parts that their preacher has selectively spoon-fed to them, and have NO idea what it REALLY says and promotes. It is, by far, the MOST violent and immoral book EVER written.

1. slavery and daughters - God doesn't promote slavery. He knows that some men have(had) slaves and He said what the rules would be about it. A slave is to obey their master and a master is to treat their slaves fairly. Provide them shelter and food for their work. Remember that God's choosen people, the Israelites, were slaves in Egypt for generations. God had the Egyptians die in the Red Sea when they went after the Israelites when Moses led them out. The Pharoah, after the 10 plagues, promised to free them but after they left, he ordered his men to go kill them. The Pharoah broke his promise, so God destroyed them. If a person was a slave, they were to listen to their master and do their work well and with pride. Their masters/owners were to treat them fairly for their work and not keep them long. Etc.
2. Deut 20 is about cities of your enemies. Israel's enemies. Non-believers of God. So I guess God can set up the rules.
3. Deut 22 is about crimes against marriage. Reading the entire chapter plainly tells us that sex is to be for marriage only. God is serious about this. Verses 28-29 (NAB) says "If a man comes upon a maiden that is not betrothed, takes her and has relations with her, and their deed is discovered, the man who had relations with heer shall pay the girl's father 50 silver shekels and take her as his wife, because he has deflowered her. Moreover, he may not divorce her as long as he lives." There is nothing about rape here. The girl willingly has sex with him. They have sex outside of marriage. Then they are get married and stay married. Deut 22 doesn't speak of rape at all.
3. Sin brings on death. Instead of David dying, God had his child die. That child is young and innocent, he went to Heaven. David is still alive and has to live with this guilt. This is his punishment. God can deem what our punishment is. He is God. He makes the rules and tells us what our rewards and punishments will be. He doesn't have to justify Himself to any of us.
4. His daughter came out first and he had to keep his promise. His daughter knew he had to keep his promise also. If he were to break it, he would be punished. He would have sinned against God then.
You have to understand that when someone dies, a baby, a young child, an innocent person, it's sad that they are no longer living with their loved ones. But they are then in Heaven with their Creator. Earthly death isn't always bad. I would greatly miss my child if he died tonight but I would grieve for some time yet also ease my loss by knowing that he would be with the Lord. Heaven is much better than the sins of the world. God punishes the disobedient with either earthly punishment or eternal life in hell. He also rewards the obedient with Heaven. God is just and fair. He loves us because He created us and all around us. All He asks in return is faith and trust in Him. Not that difficult to me. The sins of the world and my sins make me suffer now. But with my faith, I pray that some day I will be with God. I am not worthy of that great reward but I try.

Hon, You gotta read the whole book. don't take scripture out of the context..some of the Old Testament was written for our examples..Though God never changes,he hates sin.then & now,
Dont go to those negative www.sites...there are many people out there who are just looking for a way to be God --bashers,,one day, they'll "kneel before Christ".
I will pray for you.The saviour I know is in Isaiah, 53. He went as a lamb to the slaughter, he opened not his mouth ,,Shug..you don't know the whole truth..if he gave up his only son,for you,,would he not freely give you all things,,if you have known love,by earthly love, imagine how much more great love God has for you! for "God IS love."
Hang in there,,keep reading, & don't have such a mind set looking for bad..for God is Good. Look For CHRIST,,seek HIm,,& you'll find that He is not who you think He is by your portrayal.....

Don't make the common mistake of thinking that all "God believers" are Bible believers. That just isn't the case. Some of us believe that God is just, loving and Supreme and all knowing in His/Her judgements. It is entirely possible for an intelligent person to believe in God without all the dogma of a religion attached to that belief. It is also possible to believe in God/Goddess without believing that the Bible is the irrefutable "word of God". Please remember that the Bible, while it is a brilliant book, was written by men---not God----Blessings!

As time passed, we see the religion get stronger, purely through murder and assimilation...

Because the bible is the word of MEN not GOD.
God is in each of us, it is in nature and everything you see.
NO MAN HAS THE RIGHT TO SAY THAT THE BIBLE IS THE WORD OF GOD, who are they to dictate that God spoke to them? Why should we believe in all that non sense?
THE BIBLE IS EVIL , WRITTEN BY IGNORANT MORONS , SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN AS A BOOK TO TEACH US OUR MORAL VALUES.

We are no longer under the laws of Moses ( Old testament ), they were made in such a way that they could not possibly be done, to teach that no one is righteous through the law, that is why when Jesus came onto the scene, there were many who were lost. Jesus then taught a better coventant.
We are then to obey Jesus and His Disciples, and no longer under the laws of Moses
