last night I was having a nightmare, in my dream I was at my house and everything was flooding and there was fishes and everywhere. Suddenly I looked around and I became awared that I was dreaming (in my dream) and I yelled "stop!" and the water and fishes dissapeared and I was now controlling my dream however I wanted. I turn a fish into a dinosaur and then into a 9-feet woman. I brought my family and they were like my dummies, I told them all to dance and they did! They look so stupid. How was that possible? Do you think I could do it again and how?

When you dream, it's a part of your brain that doesn't shut down and tells stories. If another part of your brain wakes up it can notice that you are dreaming, and enable you to control your dreams.

What an imagination you have.
To be dreaming and be able to be in the dream directing it is quite freaky.
I have experienced this.
When sleeping we enter into different states according to you, your beliefs, your imagination, what was happening in the day, your issues. what was on your mind. etc etc etc.
So nobody can answer your question, we are all different.
Feel into it yourself.
Relax, and ask what you need to know from this dream.
Allow it to come in whatever way it does.
This is the tricky part, because you will go about your day, forget you asked, and miss the "message".
To learn to do this for yourself, will help you in life more than learning a foreign language.
Do you have loving relationships with all people in your life.
If not, work on this also.
Do you have self esteem problems, or feel unheard, or do you feel you are not in control of your life.
Remember you did ask.
Look at these things honestly, you will be a better person for working on yourself, in these areas.
The subconscious is helping us while we sleep.

According to Dreamcrowd:

To dream that you are fishing, indicates that you are confronting and bringing your repressed emotions to the surface. In particular, to dream that you are ice fishing, suggests that you are breaking through a hardened emotional barrier and confronting difficult feelings from your unconscious. Consider the common phrase "fishing for compliments".

To see water in your dream, symbolizes the meeting between your two states of mind. The sand is symbolic of the rational and mental processes while the water signifies the irrational, unsteady, and emotional aspects of yourself. It is a place of transition between the physical/material and the spiritual. To dream that you are on the beach and looking out toward the ocean, indicates unknown and major changes that are occurring in your life. Consider the state of the ocean, whether it is calm, pleasant, forbidding, etc. To dream that you are looking toward the water, suggests that you are returning to what is familiar to you. Alternatively, you may be adapting or accepting to the changes and circumstances in your life. To dream that you are relaxing on a beach, signifies that the coming weeks will be calm and tranquil for you. Your stress will be alleviated and you will find peace of mind. To dream that you are working on the beach might signify a business project that will consume most of your time.

there is a term for this, but it escapes me at the moment. It happens more often with nightmares because there is more emotion invested, but it can happen with happy dreams too. You very likely will do it again since you have once, and may have many times without remembering it. It is not uncommon.

Just remembered, it is called Lucid dreaming.

this happens to me aswell and as stated in one othe other answers there is a term for it but its weird and i dont remember it well.....sorry.
but it can be fun and very useful if your caught in another bad dream. yes i think you can do it again and if you want to do it try clearing your mind before you sleep, at least that works for me, but keep in mind if there are somethings you cant change thats what you really want to ask questions about
