My son wants SkechAirs for school. They cost about $35, and I say why not. Even if he is going to outgrow them (which he usually does before he ruins them) I want him to have a quality shoe. His feet are growing and developing, and he needs good shoes for that. I'm not a big fan of bad shoes. I will let him wear nice hand me down clothes, but never shoes. Do not skimp on his feet!

quality shoes cost $$. Mm, maybe $50. I've spent more. My kids' feet grow slow and they are gentle on their shoes, so they last and last. We have $50 shoes and $12 shoes, they like them both but invariably go for the $50 ones citing they are soooo comfortable (we like the UMI brand). If my kids were growing out of shoes every four months or trashing them in a couple weeks, forget it. I won't pay a lot of money for a fancy pair of shoes or something really unusual that won't get worn a lot. I put the money in the shoes that will go with everything and get worn often.

School Shoe? For sure not more than 20 $. They need a shoe every 6 months atleast and they ruin it. So go for still cheaper if you get one.

Both my kids pretty much lived in sneakers. They need them for recess and gym anyway so they might as well be the shoes they wear everyday anyway. At that age..they grow out of shoes quickly so I always got sneakers from Payless.

Probably about 20. I got my daughter some sandals at famous footwear for under 20 dollars (DC's) and my son some sandals as well. They are better quality than the payless shoes and for only 3 more dollars.

I definitely wouldn't pay more than $30-$40.
They will ruin them quickly and you'll be back
buying new shoes in a hot minute!

Don't go too cheap because your kid needs to be comfy just like you. Don't spend too much because they grow so fast and like to tear them up on the playground. I would bargain shop for a sturdy, name-brand shoe that's on sale. Buy your kids things of quality you would consider wearing. There's nothing like wearing shoes that kill your feet!!!
