Mormon theology asserts that what you ask is definitely true. Revealed truth through contemporary prophets says that we are not alone in the vastness of space. Many other worlds are also populated with our relatives who are also children of God.

Not necessarily. It may be arrogant of us to assume that life is "no big deal," i.e., that life is not so special, so that it could easily occur anywhere...sprout up anywhere there was water and sunshine. Life may be more unique and special than we realize.
What if it really takes a Creator to create life? Think about our common experience. We do not know of any cases where life spontaneously arises from non-living processes. Life comes from life. That is a rock solid scientific theory because it is repeatable. The hypothesis that life comes from non-life has never been scientifically proven. (Miller Urey does not count--among other reasons--because proteins are not the same as a living organism.)
Isn't it a bit hypocritical of the atheist or evolutionist to criticize the theist for stating that the creation of life was a special event that happened in the distant past, when the atheist is saying the exact same thing? "Once upon a time there was a warm little pool with just the right elements in it and abracadabra, lightning struck and it became alive." This sounds more like Frankenstein--without the doctor--than a plausible explanation for the origin of life.

As a Christian, I definitely have wondered why God would have made all of those solar systems, other galaxies and all of the planets that are out there, if there wasn't the potential for life on other planets.
Even if there was only life on 1% of the planets out there, I still think that there would be a lot of planets with life on it. Just how intelligent that life is, would be anyone's guess.

The Fermi paradox is the apparent contradiction between high estimates of the probability of the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations and the lack of evidence for or contact with such civilizations.
According to some observers, the extreme age of the universe and its vast number of stars suggest that extraterrestrial life should be common. Discussing this proposition with colleagues over lunch in 1950, the physicist Enrico Fermi is said to have asked: "Where are they?" Fermi questioned why, if a multitude of advanced extraterrestrial civilizations exist in the Milky Way galaxy, evidence such as probes, spacecraft, or radio transmissions has not been found. The simple question "Where are they?" (alternatively, "Where is everybody?") is possibly apocryphal, but Fermi is widely credited with simplifying the problem of the probability of extraterrestrial life. Wider examination of the implications of the topic began with Michael Hart in 1975, and it is sometimes referred to as the Fermi-Hart paradox.
There have been attempts to resolve the Fermi Paradox by locating evidence of extraterrestrial civilizations, along with proposals that such life could exist without human knowledge. Counterarguments suggest that intelligent extraterrestrial life does not exist or occurs so rarely that humans will never make contact with it.
A great deal of effort has gone into developing scientific theories and possible models of extraterrestrial life and the Fermi paradox has become a theoretical reference point in much of this work. The problem has spawned numerous scholarly works addressing it directly, while various questions that relate to it have been addressed in fields as diverse as astronomy, biology, ecology and philosophy. The emerging field of astrobiology has brought an interdisciplinary approach to the Fermi paradox and the question of extraterrestrial life."--wikipedia
To the objective (or open minded ) person there are several possibliities:
1. Earth is unique-- Earth is the only planet capable of supporting life as we know it.
2. Earth is not unique in that there is life elsewhere but there are no other advanced civilizations in the universe.
3. Earthlike planets are extremely rare therefore any advanced civilizations are to far away for us to contact.
3. Earthlike planets are not rare, there are many civilizations out there but they are so far ahead of us technologically that they do not wish to be contacted.
4. Earthlike planets are not rare, there are many civilizations out there but their form of life may be so different than ours that communication may be impossible.
5. The Zoo hypothesis--we are being deliberately isolated by some advanced race wishing to protect us or cultivate us technologically.
6. We have been contacted but our governments feel that the general public is not "ready" for such a discovery and the aliens have respected that viewpoint.
7. They are already amoung us but we cannot see them (deliberate hiding or so differnet that our eyes can't see them)and our government doesn't know.

He could if he wanted to, but life as we know it can only exist within a very narrow range of conditions and a variation of only half of 1% could make life impossible.
God never told us if he did or he didn't, but we have never seen any evidence that he did.
If they are there it causes some interesting problems because God said he is going to destroy heaven and earth and create new ones. Jesus came here and paid for our sins on the cross so we could be saved, but are the spacemen perfect and without sin and automatically saved or did Jesus have to do a repeat performance on every inhabited planet or did his sacrifice here pay for them even though they never heard of Jesus and don't know anything about it?

LOL...did you get that email with the pictures of the planets and their sizes too?? I have been contemplating this question for about a week or two now. In my head, I think there is no way possible that we are the only inhabited planet, the universe is too vast and earth is such a small part of the grand scheme of things.

I don't think arrogance or God come into the equation. It's possible. Therefore we hope to some day find out. I doubt it will be in our lifetime. I believe that life is pretty rare, simply because there have not been any other hospitable planets found in our galaxy, but I'm sure other galaxies may have them. I think "the arrogance thing" was first said by someone who believed in God...which is merely anthropomorphizing.

sure, God has created different planets with existence. He in basic terms hasn't informed us lots approximately them. My Church has added scriptures which point out this. Moses a million:35 yet basically an account of this earth, and the inhabitants thereof, supply I unto you. For behold, there are a number of worlds that have kicked the bucket via the interest of my ability. And there are a number of that now stand, and innumerable are they unto guy; yet all issues are numbered unto me, for they are mine and that i understand them. Moses 7:30 And have been it achieveable that guy could extensive style the debris of the earth, yea, tens of millions of earths like this, it does no longer be a beginning up to the style of thy creations; and thy curtains are stretched out nonetheless; and yet thou paintings there, and thy bosom is there; and additionally thou paintings in basic terms; thou paintings merciful and style perpetually;

It is arrogant to believe that God didn't put intelligent life on this planet.
...But that's what the atheists want us to believe.
