I am 22 years old college grad and a stocker at an office supply store during one of the most hectic times of the year. I make 9/hr. I have been there for about two months, never really liked it, but lately I can't stand it.

There is a manager added to our shift because we are understaffed and desperately seeking help, but this guy brings with him complete obnoxiousness rudeness and unrealistic expectations.

I am responsible for stocking the furniture that comes in (the most strenuous work in the store). A lot of the time when we are falling behind on the general stocking, I have to help them and wont touch furniture for a week and when I finally do its built up and expected for me to finish in a day.

So I try to work my *** off and as a result injured my lower back about a week ago and I was out for a week.

I feel it is the right thing to do to at least stick around until the back 2 school season is over, but everyone is telling me that this isnt worth it how do i quit?

No job is worth your health!
I agree with everyone else when they say that it isn't worth it. Just go in and talk to the manager and say that you can't work there anymore.
Also, if you got injured at work, it is a work safety issue that you are 1. understaffed and 2. moving a build up of furniture. The manager should have the proper amount of people working there and not adding extra stress to the current employees.
Don't put up with unrealistic expectations. Go in , explain the situations, if he doesn't like it, too bad. It is his worry about hiring someone new, not yours.
Take leave and relax and heal up!!!

HAHA I artwork in a decision centre too, that's detrimental. this is what I do when I get the undesirable calls. a million) I write the guy's handle/telephone quantity down on a bite of paper and put in my pocket. Then I daydream approximately the two going to their domicile and slashing their tires or prank calling them at 3am and saying something particularly frightening. I in no way finally end up doing something, yet a minimum of it makes me experience extra effectual. 2) i've got discovered an exceptionally sturdy technique of mocking them without them with the flexibility to truly get mad at me lol. while they are saying something thoroughly ridiculous or something terrible my enterprise did I provide a great-eyed "Oh my gosh" and "wow". the terrific concern to do is in no way lose your cool. 3) I placed myself of their shoes - the two mentally and verbally. So in the event that they're indignant some billing errors, think of of ways that could make you experience and say something to that result "I completely comprehend how frustrating that is!" Kill them with kindness, basically good sized psychos can nonetheless yell at people who've spent the final 10 minutes sympathizing with their completely rude ranting. and often times it helps to think of that possibly that guy or woman is genuinely broke, or abused or in any different case hurting - it helps to comprehend the place the anger comes from. 4) continually, continually shop practising something else, callcentres have particularly extreme get admission to point wages for a reason, and in case you grow to be complacent you have only given your self a existence sentence. do not do it! only view your interest as a ability to an end and as quickly as you pass domicile for the day placed each and all of the negativity out of your head. in no way think of or communicate of artwork at domicile. as quickly as you start to, stop your self and initiate up doing something else. call somebody on the telephone, study a e book, regardless of you're able to do.

Don't allow yourself to be taken advantage of. You clearly have a strong work ethic, and like me, you feel guilty leaving a job, especially when they're really busy.

But if you hate it, you hate it. Put in your two weeks' notice when you return to work. (In writing and verbally.) If they ask why you're leaving, say "This job isn't right for me." If they continue to press, explain that you prefer to work in organized, consistent environments where people have clear-cut roles and respect each other.

"Polite" way to leave a job and you have a college education? Wow. You give 2 weeks notice that you will be leaving. That is polite enough.

Tell them that the because of the back injury, you are going to try to find another place of employment. You can't risk another similar injury. Honestly, as long as you give them your two weeks notice, you don't really even need to tell them why. Just give them notice.

If you hate the job so much why are you concerned about politeness. Don't be rude, just put in your notice. It's none of their business why you are leaving.

You could tell them that your lower back is not completely healed, and coming back to work right now is aggravating your injury even worse. You could say that you don't know when you will be completely healed, so you are turning in a resignation letter.

Tell them that you love your job, but it's hurting you physically. Give them your two-weeks notice and tell them you're very sorry.
