Is that why they are so secretive about that stuff, but at the same time CNN has several Larry King shows about UFO sightings, etc? Maybe some people are going to DISAPPEAR soon, and they may want us to believe that they were abducted by aliens from outer space? What do you think?

I don't believe in space aliens, by the way.

"here to help" - what else would they do? kill people who talk about conspiracy theories? how would they NOT "allow" conspiracy theories to thrive?

By the way, government conspiracies DO happen all of the time. It is not far-fetched.

Who knows? I read a book a few years ago called, "Behold A Pale Horse," and the author (William Cooper) said the same thing. Only time will tell, I guess.

In 1947 a farmer in New Mexico found a strip of cloth that was some sort of 1940's bubble wrap. He called the police and they concluded that it was from an Alien UFO crash. This is known as the famous Roswell Incident of 1947. But what the people of Roswell in 1947 didn't know was that they were upwind of a Army Airbase (there was no Air Force until 1948). They were testing weather balloons that they could hope to send over the the Soviet Union.

The Government made no official comment on this. Members of the government let it known to friends and family that they believed that what was found in the farmer's yard did belong to Aliens. But in the 1990's the Air Force explained the Roswell incident in two books, which both explained that certain random government workers were to say in conversation that they believed that the 'bubble wrap' found in the farmers yard was from Aliens.

The SR-71 was spotted many times streaking at Mach 3.2 across the sky at 80,000 feet. That high all you can see are the massive contrails made by the plane, but you can see how deadly fast it is going. Most of the spotting were made by the Soviet Union members, but when the gigantic plane must take off, people who live near the site of it taking off can see, hear, and probably feel it taking off. The max speed of the SR-71 is somewhere around 3,200 MPH. Which would take about an hour to cross the USA. This plane used its speed to get airborne and high enough out of the sight of US citizens, but at times it just couldn't do so. This is where in the 80's that the government encouraged us the believe in the UFO's that people saw (but actually were the secret SR-71 spy plane).

Check the History Channel for shows about UFO's. It's a little geeky I know, but they are ridiculously informative about citizens views, government views, and what actually was seen. Some of the sightings were caught on tape, and some of the planes seemed way to weird to be real. Just like a disk with a green cone on the bottom, that was turning on an axel. Check it out!

The Government likes us to not know what they know. My father and I joke about stuff like this. I ask my dad, 'Hey dad, what kinda of plane is that?' (and i point to something really high up) and he reply's 'Oh, thats a scramjet, the scramjet we arn't supposed to know about.

Not at all. And to answer your question, people are going to believe what they want to believe. So, answer this: say the government officially came out and DID say they were testing "aliens" and "UFO's", would you believe them? Or would you think it was a part of some scheme? Probably the latter. Some people will try to turn everything and anything into a conspiracy theory.

The universe is composed of an inumerable volume of stars, planets, galaxies, and so on. So the possibility for existence lots greater more desirable and clever than ours is the two in all risk and intensely achieveable. everybody who disagrees with such sentiments needless to say believes us human beings are specific for some reason. which on reflection whilst in comparison with the great and infintesmal length of the universe is obviously proves weren't specific, and more desirable existence can exist someplace else. Ofcourse the government is hiding issues from us, in basic terms like father and mom cover issues from their naive teenagers.

i believe so,they seem to allow all conspiracy theories to thrive.

added. there are government conspiracies, the assassination of MLK Jr is one that has been proven in a court of law. i don't want the government to kill conspiracy theorist. By keeping info hidden/suppressed they allow the conspiracy theories to thrive. some of the UFO theories could be debunked simply, without compromising national security. regardless, you will always have those that believe in conspiracies.

Your putting too much credence in the competency of the government to be able to come up with complicated conspiracies. My view of the government can be seen in their response to Katrina, defence against 9/11 attacks and ability to maintain our bridge systems...

Do you really think the government wants us to know anything? They want us dumb and easy. Pay our taxes and they will spend them on whatever they want as long as it isn't for the better of our country. We are heading for a depression and the only ones that won't be hurt are all those creeps that have been stealing our money and lying to us about everything.
