The 10 Commandments, in many ways, is like the law: Don't kill, don't steal, don't commit adultery, don't hurt your parents, don't go after your neighbor's wife or property, etc.
So, yes, when I think about what's good and bad, I think of God's 10 Commandments.

Harry, 44, banker.

I decide good and bad based on the consequences. I usually make decisions based on the best possibility for the maximum happiness (or minimum unhappiness) for those affected.

Sometimes (rarely) I consider laws or codes such as the Humanist manifesto or other philosophic principles, but all such rules fail if the circumstances are weird enough, so I have found that it is best to consider the most likely consequences.

For example, the "golden rule" does not work if you like to engage in any harmful activities, or if you don't really know the other person.

My faith affects every thing I do. Of course it comes into it. Being a Christian isn't something you do on Sunday..it is a lifestyle. I don't watch any movie that is rated above a G..I try to only watch Christian movies for the most part..I don't watch a lot of TV shows because of sexual talk, violence or particle nudity.....it is getting harder to find anything decent to watch any more. The clothes I wear are chosen for modesty. I wish my food was, but I'm still working on that one. I know I should eat better...Our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, after all and we should take care of it.

I am careful about what I hang on my walls as art. You see, my whole life reflects what I believe. Oh, and the music I listen to is mostly Gospel,,,some love songs though.

Wow this is cheap way to do research. Usually I get coffee, biscuits and $50 for a half hour of my time. You will verify age and names how?

You are freeloading from the looks of things.

I sum up good and bad choices as "All sentient beings, including myself, being equal, does the effects of this action/event reduce suffering or increase suffering in the being involved?" Put simply, the golden rule.

what god says is right or wrong.god sets the standards for right and wrong.if you remove god from the situation then it just becomes your opinion.if you don't believe in absolute right or wrong was my statement above wrong?if you say yes it was you who just made an absolute statement.if you don't believe in absolutes ,are you absolutly sure?you see the problem.god is the standard not you or me.you will have chaos, gee looks like the world is already in chaos, why because they are doing it there way not gods way.

i dunno if i can help, i'm 16 years old, student at a high school

when i think about what is right and wrong, i think of my faith, the word of God, and finally how it will effect others. if it effects them negatively for my pleasure, goes against God's word, or goes against my personal beliefs in right and wrong, then i know its wrong. if its ok with all of those, its fine. but mostly i judge by the consiquences
