I just find this the oddest thing ever. I have a friend who's middle name is Jack Daniel after Jack Daniel's whiskey. Anyone else know someone named after an alcoholic beverage?

My friends, sisters, kid is called Bailey.
It's almost as bad as being called Mercedes.
It's tacky.
Jack Daniel is a pretty nice name though.

I would name a child after an alcoholic beverage however I do not know anyone who is so named.

I think it depends on the name. My mum almost called me Tia (my middle name is Maria) but thought better of it, and decided to add an 'N'. (So my name is Tina Maria) Which isn't bad! lol My sisters middle name is Sherry. And my mate named her little boy Bailey. But Courvoisier is a bit much, for anyones taste really. I suppose all anyone can do is try and volunteer more names, but 3rd July is almost here, and if she's stuck on it, then that's her choice. I wish the best of luck to your friend and hope everything goes well with labour/birth. ;-)

Some of you are actually forgetting the fact that alcohol for the most part is named after people and not the other way around!

No, I don't think I would ever name my child after an alcoholic beverage. I would stick to famous people, maybe famous places, but not cocktails.
