The early stages of gingivitis can be reversed with good hygiene at home and a visit to the dentist for treatment of the infection.

This is on a poster at my dentists' office:
"FLOSS ONLY THE TEETH YOU WANT TO KEEP"

Remember the pain you are in and that saying the next time you don't feel like flossing!

If your gums are puffy you probably have some form of infection and you need to get to the dentist. Start flossing no matter if you feel like it's pointless or not. Apparently though, it's not pointless if you're not flossing and you're having problems with your gums now, is it? LOL. Talk to your dentist. There are plenty of tools out there now to properly take care of your teeth.

Brush well and start flossing. You have to do this daily, and you can do it! Peridontal disease is quickly brought under control with good hygiene (flossing and brushing). Ask you parents to get you a water pic and use in along with the flossing and brushing.

You should floss not only to keep your teeth clean but also to have your braces removed faster. You teeth will move quicker when they are cleaner. Also, when your teeth are dirty, it invites all sorts of bacteria/microbes to enter your GI tract and can get you sick. You just have to make yourself floss or live with the consequences of not flossing. Ultimately, it is your choice.
