The original books were perfect and without error.

There are possibly minor copyist errors in the oldest survivng copies effecting a few figures or the spelling of a small number of words, but nothing that appears to effect any major doctrine.

All vital information is repeated in the Bible two or more times, so by comparing all the verses on a topic you can figure out any difficulties.

Most of what at first sight we think is an error or a contradiction is an error in our understanding of it and it can be logically worked through and resolved.

While Archaeology cannot prove that the Bible is God's written word to us, it can (and does) substantiate the Bible's historical accuracy. Archaeologists have consistently discovered the names of government officials, kings, cities, and festivals mentioned in the Bible--sometimes when historians didn't think such people or places existed.

For example, the Gospel of John tells of Jesus healing a cripple next to the Pool of Bethesda. The text even describes the five porticoes (walkways) leading to the pool. Scholars didn't think the pool existed, until not so long ago, archaeologists found it forty feet below ground, complete with the five porticoes.

Archaeology has also refuted many ill-founded theories about the Bible. For example, a theory still taught in some colleges today asserts that Moses could not have written the Pentateuch (the first five books of the Bible), because writing had not been invented in his day.

However, a major archaeological find confirmed a very early written alphabet in the discovery of the Ebla Tablets in northern Syria in 1974.

These 14,000 clay tablets are thought to be from about 2300 B.C., hundreds of years before Moses and even way before Abraham!

The Bible has a tremendous amount of historical detail, so not everything mentioned in it has yet been found through archaeology. However, not one archaeological find has conflicted with what the Bible records - which suggests it has come down to us with a high degree of accuracy.

This must really get up the skeptics noses because they hate being proven wrong!

The Bible as it was given to Moses, the Disciples, Joel and others is perfect and without error. You must remember however that the ones that it was given to originally did not write it down, they told their children, their children told their children and so on until it was written down, then translated by many, many, many, other's. So to be able to say that the Bible we read today is completly error proof would be impossible do I believe that it is as perfect as it can be yes, do I truely believe that it is the roadmap that God and his son Jesus expect us to follow yes. I believe that the only true errors in the Bible are of a typographical nature, or man's error not God's and I also believe that any major errors God made a way for those to be corrected. Hope this helps

Is anything created by humans perfect and without error? Is human perfection even possible? Not since the last time I checked. The Bible is an imperfect symbolical account that contradicts itself in many places. Take it or leave it.

The Catholic church is the authenitic interpreter of the bible. But there are no contradictions in the bible. The bible is not a science book. Concerning salvation history there are no errors, concerning God there are no errors. The bible is a book of faith, hope and love in God.

Answer to your question:
No. There have been many revisions which lead some parts of the Bible to be in error.

Not related to your questions:
I may sound biased, but the Quran is the only book that has not been changed since its origin. To confirm, you can see ALL Qurans from all different times; they are all arranged word-by-word without change or revision.

You should no more focus on errors in the bible than errors in a love letter you receive from your spouse. The message of love can be painfully clear even though some of the facts may be in error.

God's message is perfect. If God created the universe don't you think he could get a book to us?

In regards to ancient historical documents the bible is the most accurate. More manuscripts, spread over the ancient known world, backed by artifacts, copied into many languages, has woithstood the test of time and those who sought to stamp out it's message.

No other ancient manuscript can make these claims.

Yes it is!

God can't lie. Titus 1:2

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment. Heb. 9:27

We are judged by the Ten Commandments.

Ever told a lie?
Ever hated anyone? See 1 John 3:15
Ever lusted after someone? See. Matt. 5:27-28
Ever blasphemed?

For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10

Lawbreakers go to hell.

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Rev. 21:8

This is clear and humbling. However God made a way so we wouldn't have to go to hell. Jesus (God in flesh) came to earth, lived a sinless life, and was crucified on our behalf. He rose three days later defeating death and in turn giving us an escape route from hell. But Jesus did command us to repent. That means to turn from sin to God. The perfect example of repentance is found in Psalm 51.

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15

I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Luke 13:3

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3

You see when you repent God gives you a new heart and new desires and they are desires to serve Him. As a result you are biblically born again! That my friend is good news!

No!

However, it does contain truths that cannot be ignored.

The Bible was written by humankind! The 10 Commandments were written by God, Himself.

The Bible does help to lead humankind in the right direction, as God has prescribed.

None the less, humans have written the most of it.

The Bible of today was put together by man.Man chose what books, letters etc... to put together to form the Bible.I believe that God had his hand on it and it is enough to help us understand what we need to do and what the future holds for us.We don`t have the intellect to compare to God or the understanding. We are like small children where Gods knowledge is concerned. Some of us get smarter as we study ,more so then others.I believe that God helps you under stand his word if you truly have that desire.
