Blueberries are not really blue, they are a purple-like-violet.
There are blue-boiler peas but they are really green and just look a little bit blue-like when they are dried and faded.
Hmmm, I guess there is only blue food dye and it must be synthetic. But what did blue dye originally come from - it must have been a plant and could we eat it?

Blue substances tend not to be edible (gasses for example). The substance that makes blueberries blue is only blue in certain circumstances, and that is related to it's Ph.

When the substances aren't edible, they obviously tend not to result in food. That's as far as I can get you without getting existential.
