Sorry to hear about your dog :( There is no best way to deal with a dog's death.. Your way as long as it's healthy is the best way to deal with death. The pain goes away slowly.. You never forget, but it takes a while to stop feeling like you should have done more, you could have tried harder, you should have been there.. Whatever the situation.. People tend to blame themselves.. You have to get past that.. things happen, people die, dogs die, everything dies.. It's part of life.. Some people it takes a long time, some people do some sort of little ritual that makes themselves feel better, some people go on fairly quickly.. Your way is the best way.

First, I am sorry for your loss. When things like this happen it is terrible and hard to grasp why it happened and how to deal with it. I suggest to reflect on the great memories your dog gave you and realize that you dog was in your life, no matter how long or short, and it was a gift that ran its course and now you can remember all your fun, silly, and great times together. Talk about these memories with your family and know that your dog is at peace now. When the time is right and you and your family feel ready bring a new dog into the family and always remember what your other dog taught you. Again, I am sorry and best of luck to you and your family in your healing process.

Take your time to mourn, i lost my dog to diabetes in February this year and i still get sad about it, since it is summer and she was my ball player, and still really young (8yrs.), the vets did all they could but it over whelmed her.... I still get saddened by it, but then i remember all the good times and the happiness she brought into my life, it really helps.. We planted a flower bush in our backyard and layed a memorial under it for her, so we can look at it through our window, and its weird the other dogs will go up to it, and sniff and lay there for a while... They help me to, it is so hard to deal with the passing of our four legged family members, it never gets easy.. Just look back at all the joy, and love they gave you. Talk about the funny things and the sweet times you shared, and no that one day you will meet again, there will be no pain, and a wagging tail, and a bunch of kisses at the rainbow bridge..... I'm so sorry about your loss, big hug from me to your family...

Family Dog ? with kids involved I would have a little ceremony, and put down a small pet marker somewhere in the garden . (Not burying pet but just a marker ) and maybe let the kids say how they feel about the dog.
It gives some closure to the incident.

hi Mpgs. Sorry to your canine getting run over by ability of the vehicle and the jerk no longer combating. so she's 9 and a small canine. I unquestionably have pronounced a prayer for her and he or she would be able to be ok. chuffed you spent the money on her and spent the night along with her. pass back back if she's nevertheless there. it is going to provide her potential to ascertain you and he or she is familiar with your there . on an identical time as she's on the well-being center i'd get chicken cord fencing all over the fence just to be secure as she would dig back. you additionally can purchase status Tie-Out & Stake for canines , and get a protracted yellow or good rope they have on the ironmongery keep. she would be able to stay obtainable for hours with a good number of leg room to run you additionally could make the cord as long or short as you opt for . That way while your interior doing house typical jobs or despite you dont' would desire to venture approximately your canine leaving your sources yet she has room to roam. I had an old poodle as quickly as who had to have a pin in his leg he did high quality. basically remember come wintry climate the steel pin or plate would be somewhat achy and keep it heat different than that she would be able to be ok. With a good number of your delicate loving care. seems such as you somewhat love her.
