You do NOT need to be baptized to go to heaven.

To go to heaven:

Believe that Jesus, who is God, died for your sins and rose again. That's it. Believe that and you WILL be in heaven when you die.

My Friend Martin above has spoken well. At the Get Saved button, this is what you will find: http://contenderministries.org/romanroad.php

What I would add to this if you are a new Christian is WELCOME TO GOD'S FAMILY. Be very careful of ANYONE who tells you anything other than what is in God's Holy Word, the Bible.

No, you do not NEED to be baptised to go to heaven. The proof is in Jesus own words:
Luk 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
This was spoken to the thief nailed to the cross next to Jesus. Obviously, he had a pretty good excuse for NOT being baptised; he was nailed to a cross and would be dead in a few hours. I might add that this is the ONLY example of a New Testament Christian who was NOT baptised. Baptism is a Commandment and strongly encouraged, but not a NECESSITY FOR SALVATION.

If you sincerely pray to God in Jesus name to forgive your sins, accept his death on the cross and resurrection as payment for your sin and conquering death FOR US, you are a Child of God and your salvation is complete and there is nothing more to salvation.

There are a couple of things that will happen IMMEDIATELY:
1) Satan will come whisper in your ear-this isn't real. You're a filthy nasty sinner and God doesn't love you. Whatever wrong things you have EVER done, Satan will remind you of them. When he does this, you need to know the Bible well enough to remind Satan of HIS FUTURE:
Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.
2) You can stand against Satan and grow in your relationship with the Lord much easier if you are NOT ALONE. It is real important that you find a local, Christian, Bible believing Christian Church to help you and grow with you.
3) If you are sincere with this question and your prayers and walk with the Lord, thank you SO MUCH for asking. People like you are why I'm up at 3 am, pounding away at my keyboard.; this is a ministry, and God has placed people like me to be here for people like you.

In His Service,
John the Baptist

Baptism is not the requirement for heaven. Romans 10:9-10: for if you believe in your heart, and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, you are saved. Baptism is however an act of obedience to the Word. Acts 2:38 [maybe 37, I do not have a bible at my desk,] Repent, be baptized, and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The only thing preventing you from going to Heaven is if you have not already; confess your sins to God, ask Jesus to come into your heart and you are going to make Heaven your eternal home. You just need to read the bible and get to a good bible believing church. Then you will want to follow the example of our Savior and be baptized. Now just hang on for a wonderful transformation of your heart!

I was baptized. Of my own free will, in a pond on a farm by a minister. I was an adult when I did this. Many years later though, I am not a Christian. I believe that Jesus lived and died and that his message was good. I believe that the bible tells many stories that we should heed a message from. However, I am a pagan now. I believe that it takes much more than accepting a book written by man and saying that you accept that on your death bed to get to "heaven".

So, if I believed in hell .. I'm sure under your beliefs I'm headed there. But under the advice of Jesus ... I'm moving toward a better life in another time ... being a good person is more important living a bad life and at the end saying ... oh Jeez, forgive me!

Baptism should be an outward sign of an inward transformation. It is a public announcement by either you or your family that you have accepted the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Technically you could have salvation without baptism, however, note how the Bible emphasized the importance of baptism (even among the early Jewish people of faith). Therefore, if you have committed yourself to Christianity, you would want to make a public declaration of this by the act of Baptism. Sometimes when you have made a conversion to a different religion they ask that you be rebaptised. This is also a good idea and more as an outward symbol of what internally has taken place within your heart and soul.

the best thing I can say to you....

I haven't been baptized yet. But it's not that big of a deal for me as of now. I'm sure that I'll be baptized in my life before I die and I know that it'll bring me more into the Christian life. I'm not sure if it's a "requirement" or not...but I do know for a fact that it does involve what church you're in. If you belong to a Baptist Church, of course you'll be baptized, for example. It really depends on the person's overall opinion on the matter.

As for the "accepted into Heaven" part of your question: read the Bible, follow God's commandments as well as Jesus's teachings, practice GOOD morals, and repent if you've sinned.

I think that covers it. =D Hope that helps.

Roman's 8; 6 the mind of sinful man is death , but the mind controlled by the spirit is life and peace!!! yes we must be baptized in the spirit,(totally immersed in his trust) the water baptism is a metaphor which can be a great help in our human minds to better grasp the spiritual meaning!!!!!!

All of what you said are cool things to do but here is the bottom line.

Jesus finished work on the cross was acceptable to GOD as payment for your sins. Is it acceptable to you? Are you willing to turn your whole life over to the care of GOD? Are you willing to accept Jesus as your Lord and savior? If so then you are a card carrying Christian.
Welcome.
May the Lord richly bless you.

Praise Lord, there is a way out, saint. There is a fountain which is God Himself, the source of living water! It is when we are full of this thirst quenching water that we can easily overcome whatever comes across our path. By the living water out of this spring we overcome all things. The lamb who today is in the heavens is the One who is shepherding us. He exercises His rulership over the universe, over the nations, and over the Jews. But us who are His seekers, He leads to the very God, to the springs of water of life

Get yourself a King James Bible and read it.You will decide to get baptized, though it is not a salvation issue. That's all you need.Joining churches is not the answer.Especially in these Last Days.

you must accept Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.
You must be baptised. God's mercy is infinite ,yet, baptism joins you to Christ's passion, death, and resurrection. At baptism, we become adopted sons and daughters of The Father.

Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. John 3:5

Repent of your sins (read the 10 commandments as guidelines for your life!)

Follow the commandments!

An official asked Jesus, "Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"...You know the commandments: Never commit adultery. Never murder. Never steal. Never give false testimony. Honor your father and your mother." Luke 18:18,20
