If both spouses are in the military is it more beneficial to live on base housing or out in town?

depends on where you are stationed. if there are no children involved, each are entitled to BAH Single. if there are kids, the senior ranking gets BAH w/D, the other still gets Single. There is no 'half' or DIFF. Living in PPV housing, the Senior one forfeits BAH entirely, and the other allots the entire BAH to housing. Non PPV housing..nobody gets BAH at all.

so, add up your respective BAH's.. if you can get decent housing out in town for that.. and have some left over to pay utilities and cable, so much the better.

You will get full BAH and your spouse will get half. If it means more money in your pocket live off base/post. If you liv eon base you'll be pocketing half BAH. If you live off bas eyou may be able to pocket extra

Queen of Nice is right but make sure you consider the cost of living in your area first. That tends to change things a little bit.
