There is no such thing as anonymous email. IP addresses are stamped on everything you do.

Look for "anonymous remailers" on Google. They're a bit hard to find, but there should be a few around. Another method would be to get a laptop with an 802.11g wireless card, and use somebody else's Internet connection (a lot of libraries, cafes, and McDonalds restaurants offer free and unsecured WI-FI Internet access). Use their Internet connection to sign up for a new Yahoo email account, and then use that to send your email. The only IP address the police will see (if they really bothered to track it down, which I doubt because they'd need to get a court order to get it) will be the address of the router belonging to the establishment that provides the Internet access and there would be no way for anyone to trace it to your computer.

OR

Simply ask the cops if it's OK for you to withhold your identity, they should normally follow up on your complaint regardless. But if you do have reason to believe that your @sshole neighbor is seriously dangerous and might have connections with the cops, then it wouldn't hurt to use my above suggestions.

There's no need to send an anonymous email, you just need to go to the police station or call, and report your suspicion. Police agencies do not reveal your identity everything is confidential. Or if you feel more comfortable with the email just make a fake email account and send the email from your local library. But, I would rather report that myself since everything is confidential.

Sending and anonymous email would be a huge waste of time and effort on your part. You would need to call the police non-emergency number and ask to speak to an officer. You can then explain your issues to the officer.

Sending an email, especially one that is "anonymous" would be deleted with no follow through, as there is no way to validify the claims made in the email. Plus, if you are the victim, there is no reason to hide from the police.

umm break out the big guns by sending an anonymous email? wow youre sure going to show them...did you ever think that whatever you write in that email might actually need a witness in court? do you think a judge would take an anonymous email as evidence? im not sure what it is they are doing that is so dangerous but they arnt going to show up there and be like..."well, we go this email." also if they need a search warrent they cant go to the DA or a judge with an EMAIL....grow some balls and be an adult...if they retaliate then there are some more charges pressed on them.

Yes, you can but, it may not do any good. The police can't make an arrest unless they have evidence. Evidence could be neighbours making complaints. The police usually are unable to build a case unless they have solid evidence, that may eventually mean the the complainers have to testify against the perpertrator in court.

Go to the local library and send the email from there. Do not use your home computer. Do not use a friends computer.

Look up on the Internet your city police department. There should be an email address on there somewhere.

I'd suggest you will get more action if you go down personally to talk to the police. If you ask them they will keep your conversation confidential.

Either ask to be kept anonymous or make a new account and send it from the public library.

You could goto your local library , create a email account send them a email. They might track where the email originated from so dont check that account at home.

With the Feds. monitoring the internet in the interest of our
national security. "key" words are automaticaly picket up, and
"police" and "guns" are two of them, especially when used in
the same sentence. You may still find a public phone booth
somehwere and call.

E-mail is not an anonymous thing. Your mail can be traced back to you if one wishes to do so.

You can send the e-mail, and ask that the police do not reveal that it was you who made the report.
