I'd choose a blue diamond, because it seems neat.

(diamonds are not nearly as rare as you think--their value is marked up to an extreme degree)
I would choose diamond, for two reasons:
1. Atheism is not clouded in archaic rules nor swamped in contradictions--it is clear, like the diamond.
2. Atheists use logic and reasoning as hard and difficult to 'scratch' as a diamond. Atheists do not accept 'soft' logic or evidence--only the sturdiest and most resilient will do.
(no, I'm not saying atheism is a religion, but it's the closest thing to one I've got)

to me there are no gem to compare Islam to, for Islam is more precious & shines brighter than any diamond, or rare gem, & you can not put a value on islam, for it can not be bought, no amount of money in the world can not buy islam, you can not find islam in any store, you can only find it in your heart, & soul islam is priceless,,,,,,

I'd choose a ruby. Spiritually, the vivid red could be representative of Christ's precious blood, shed at Calvary.

I would pick a white pearl. It is a symbol of purity and it is an organic gem as mankind is organic. I strive to be as a pearl

I'm atheist, so I guess I'd choose "no gemstone" LOL
I guess that if I had to pick, I'd choose a pearl. Pearls are shaped and formed through years and years of irritation, just like most atheists form their beliefs after years and years of irritation from Christians :)

Pearls
The kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
********
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

I would also pick a dimond, but not because they are valuable. There are werehouses full of dimonds. They are only expensive because the market is controled and they only release a handful each year. I would choose a dimond because it is the hardest thing on earth, and like my faith, it is not easily broken.

I'd go with opal, because there is such a variety in pagans. The opal, especially a fire opal, shines with all different colores that could represent all the different kinds.
