The Hygiene laws in Leviticus were a result of observation. Other cultures have accomplished similar feats of noticing that illness arises out of certain behaviors without having to know anything about "germ theory."

Sorry, nothing mystical there.

Those weren't hygiene tips, they were "don't do this or God will get pissed" commands/warnings.

Look at the context; you should be ashamed of being corrected on what the Bible says by an atheist.

P.S. If the Bible is so 'advanced' on hygiene, why are like NINE (I wish I was exaggerating) chapters of Leviticus dedicated to animal sacrifice, and general messing around with animals' blood, something that is obviously VERY unhygienic?

There is no "germ theory" in any part of the bible - some humans INTERPRET things to mean that, but it never mentions germs or theory.

BTW, they also didn't realize that pork issues could be solved by cooking the meat properly....if god is a scientist, he's not a very good one.

I think most of it was just common sense stuff. I mean, it doesn't explain why not to do it, or how it works. It would only say, don't do this or God will get pissed. So obviously the author didn't understand "germ theory", they just knew that if people did certain things, they were "unclean".

No.
ppl whay back thought that Disease was present where nad smells were present. Hence, they advocated bathing , washing clothes, etc.
One more thing, God did NOT write ur Bible...so even if ur assumption is correct(which it isnt), your God didnt have scientific knowledge.

Yep, God's laws on hygiene bested science by thousands of years.
BTW? germs are not a theory, they are small organisms that can make people ill.
It is kind of strange that people will not ackowledge the Bible's ability to direct people in matters of good hygiene, when the 'educated' sciences of the day, used crocodile feces as a way to treat wounds. (Egypt).

I don't think you need to know "germ theory" to have common sense - that if you eat raw pork, you get very sick and some people die, so don't eat it . Same with shellfish, and personal hygeine issues. All common sense that even a person lacking formal education would know through observation and familial stories and rules.

has nothing to do with religion - has to do with thinking and beinf aware.

Leviticus could really be proof of evolution.

How many humans got sick and died from spoiled shrimp and undercooked pork? Humans are capable of learning from experience without any buy-bull.

I guess sex during menstruation is out though, huh!

You'd think the biblical god could have let them in on penicillin.

Your simple correlation is not even close to evidence of cause. Not a very good try, but par for the believer course.
