of course, in a sense. This was one of the charges brought against Christians by the ancient Romans - 'atheism' - because the Christians did not believe in the Roman pantheon. Obviously it is a different use of the word 'atheist' from what is used today.

well if you reject the Greek gods you would go to a place called hades.. right ? according to the people in that era this would be correct . if you reject the Hindu gods would probably be reborn as some spineless good for nothing creature. however you say your a christian which is a blend of so many religions that you have in so many ways accepted all the religions and their belief systems you just dont know it and too few do . why ? b/c if you are born in a protestant family 90 percent believe they are protestant same with Catholic baptist Muslim along with our Greek and roman forefathers Constantine who blended Christianity with his favorite religion of the day at which he was the high priest of( Sol Invictus) the worship which was done on which day ?? you guessed it the day of the Sun or Sunday now more popularly known . the Christians sabbath was on sat. but Constantine was a slick smooth politician that wanted his empire to get along so he made a blend of religions. look it up and question why you believe what you believe dont just believe b/c someone told you it was true look to yourself before you go accepting a certain societies beliefs that happen to fall in your life time . investigate what you believe in .

No. Because we DO believe in the one true God. Also known as Jesus Christ, or the Holy Spirit. The trinity. P.S. I'm Greek and don't believe I'm an atheist. neither do my Greek Orthodox friends. I don't know about the Indians, but there aren't many Greeks out there today who only believe in old Greek mythology.

It's all about the perspective; the belief that someone is an atheist is in the eye of the beholder. If you are Christian, for example, you wouldn't find that atheist at all. Most religions think all other religions are wrong so it depends on your point of view...

Wow, thought of that all by yourself, did ya?
Okay so let me ask you - are you serious with this stuff? Why is it so hard just to ask the question that's on your mind?
I think the key word here is "Christian". Greek gods, Hindu gods, are not a factor in the Christian faith. They can call us dirt farmers for all we care. We really don't regard what ever insults they wish to hurl in our direction. Doesn't matter.

No, they wouldn't, actually. Just as Christians don't consider Greek pagans or Hindus atheists. But your choice of the Greek gods for your example is funny, because ancient theologians associated the God of Christianity and Judaism with Zeus, and frequently referred to their God as "Jupiter" or "Zeus."

see what swamy vivekananda spoke
His opening words began with.
“Brother and Sisters of America.” … Spontaneously the audience rose to its feet to applaud, perhaps appreciating the visionary sentiments Vivekananda offered.
Swami Vivekananda was chosen to represent Hinduism. However Swami Vivekananda did not try in any way to prove the superiority of his religion. Instead Vivekananda spoke with great sincerity about the harmony of world religions and the common spirituality of humanity. It was this universal message of oneness which captivated the audience.
“As different streams, having their sources in different places, all mingle their water in the sea, so, O Lord, the different paths which men take through different tendencies, various though they appear, crooked or straight, all

an atheist is someone who believes in no God. the greeks/indians would consider those who don't believe in their God's a pagan/non believer. i don't think you understand the meaning of the word 'atheist', it doesn't mean pagan/non believer.
