I want to trade in my 99 escort as a downpayment for something new. The sticker expired April of 2007, i'm in Texas if that matters, will they still take it?

Yes, but you know it's going to lessen the value . Would you buy a car with an expired inspection sticker?

Sure, a dealership will do their own inspections. A lot will have someone that does their inspections. As long as it is in condition to pass the inspections it's a none issue. If it isn't that will affect the trade in value and therefore your down payment.
