At a point in my life, having been raised as Protestant Christian, I rejected organized religion and became an agnostic. Thereafter, I embarked upon the New Age spiritual Quest, exploring the gamut of alternative spiritual concepts. I spent a number of years as a member of Builders of the Adytum, a Western Mystery School whose studies are based upon the ideas of Paul Foster Case who was once an adept in the Order of the Golden Dawn. B.O.T. A.'s studies are concentrated upon the Tarot, Qabala, Astrology, Alchemy, and other esoteric disciplines. I have never rejected those ideologies nor have I unconditionally embraced them. My scientific mind is incapable of blind belief in any religion or theological philosophy, but my creative mind can not dismiss entirely the possibility of Creative Consciousness. I have written what I occasionally regard as a Cosmic Revelation of the legend of Atlantis. It contains among its characters a deity who is the antithesis of the god of theism. My search for answers as to our origins and destiny is perpetual, although I have not eliminated the mentality that very possibly "God" is the creation of humanity rather than the alternative. We simply can not know, can we, whether or not god exists? The belief is faith-based sans any evidnece of absolute truth. The populace of the world, however powerful their faith and devotion to a deity, possess no infallible proof to support them.

It lead to atheism.

When I was a Christian, I looked into what religions believed and looked into the nature of belief, itself. This included not only Christianity, but other religions, urban legends, superstitions, myths, and so-called supernatural experiences. I learned a lot about human nature and realized that the "god concept" is just another example of things that human imagination makes up.

In a way. I studied most of the other religions and decided on mine. I studied the beliefs, traditions, customs and rites of them all and decided to pick the one that I felt closest represented my beliefs.
