To the person who commented that it's unattractive:
She didn't ask for you opinion on how nose rings look. Keep your personal opinions to yourself when they have nothing to do with answering the question. No one is going to change their personal style to soothe the annoyance of a complete stranger, and no one cares about your opinion anyway. Learn to respect other people's personal choices or keep your comments to yourself. I'm sorry if you think everyone should look like a clone, but that doesn't mean you have to pester people with your ignorant opinions.

As for the question:

Yes, leave it alone. If you keep playing with the jewelry then you can end up getting an infection. If after awhile you still think there's a problem with it (ie looseness) then go back to your piercer and have them check it out. When I initially got my nose pierced I kept over-analyzing it and kept assuming that there was something wrong with it. Two years later and my nose piercing is fine and healed very nicely.

Itching is normal. Mine itched a lot after the first week. It drove me crazy at times, but I never touched it. Your hands carry a lot of bacteria, which will cause infection, and my piercer told me to leave it alone no matter how bad it itched. Go buy a bottle of STERILE saline solution for wounds or for contacts - it must say sterile and not "sensitive eyes". Use the saline as often as you can during the day for a couple of months. Every time I go to the bathroom, and after I wash my hands, I drench my new piercings with saline. I always use it after I apply makeup, sunscreen, etc. to the area around my piercings. Overall, the best thing is to never touch the piercing, leave the jewelry in for the full recommended time, and keep it washed constantly with saline to protect it from infection. All the best!

Mine was the same way when I got it done... hurt when it was pierced, and fine right after. If you have to itch it, then itch it, but do not play with it! The more you play with it the longer it will take to heal. It will feel loose sometimes and there's not much you can do to fix it. Eventually, if it stills bothers you once it is healed you can have it changed to a shorter one, or just take wire cutters and snip a bit of the end off and file it so there aren't any rough edges. But don't do that until its COMPLETELY healed. Good luck!

Firstly, I completly agree with paranoir, couldnt have said it better myself.
Let the piercing heal, in order to do so it will be itchy, leak lymph, and generally be annoying. Avoid catching it, dont handle it unless your hands are clean and just baby it, treat it like someone has cut you. It will feel loose the more that you mess with it, because as the stud is moving around the hole adjusts to allocate for the healing, leave it be and all should be well, gratz on the new piercing :)

I think you should just learn to leave it alone but if you can't take it out sometimes.

leave it alone while its healing or you might gauge the hole and it will be a big ugly hole instead of a pretty little stud

Stop touching it, you'll get it infected. Its already in a very nasty place as it is.
