Ill be leaving monday for MEPS, and I was wondering if CTR has a high demand in the Navy. I would love to get a rate along those lines providing I score high enough on my ASVAB

He is very good I got an 86 on the practice test, I just prefer to research on my own instead of constantly bothering him with my questions

CTx (with the exception of CTI) is fairly open at the moment, so long as your line scores qualify and you can get a Clearance.
also consider IT if CTR isn't available when you want to ship.

Your recruiter should have given you a "practice" test to see how you score to give you some kind of idea. I know mine did. My recruiter also had all of that already set up prior to me going to MEPS.
Your recruiter doesn't sound very good.
