Assuming that the csi kind of stuff with the fingerprint database on the computer and crap is actually true, does joining the army get my fingerprint added to that? I'm not so sure I'd want to join if it means I'd have to wear gloves if I later became a burglar =(

Your fingerprints will be put into the Automated Fingerprint Identification System, or AFIS. They will be able to find them if you commit a crime later.

Yes they do . Fingerprints are still more effective than other methods for picking out people with a criminal background!

They may take DNA sample, too. This is so they can identify decomposed corpse, or bodies destroyed beyond recognition.

If they are required to tamper with your DNA samples for the sake of identification, you won't need to worry about those burglar gloves !

Your fingerprints will become a part of the permanent data base of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Given the structuring of your question, I would suggest your not joining any branch of the armed forces.

Yes, you'll be fingerprinted and yes, as a routine part of the required investigation of your background, your prints will be checked against those of known miscreants. If you are reluctant to go along with that, I for one would prefer that you don't attempt to enlist and that you tell us what you're hiding!

No the finger print will be used to id your sorry *** if you zig when you should have zagged.

Anyway I suspect there is another hidden motive for your question, perhaps you have a rap sheet as long as your arm, well you can run but you cant hide in the military.

Prints and DNA. A good reason to fess up about your criminal history with the recruiter... they really do check, and if you lie, you're sunk.

If you're planning on becoming a burglar we dont want you. ;) try the mafia, I dont think they take prints or do background checks.
