Does any one know of a gun smith in Central Texas that is able to port a 500 S&W, I tryed to get one guy to do it and he said that the barrel was instead of a hollow protective shourd and was not able to do it.

I just looked on the S & W website and it appears that all the models are either ported or compensated, and some are both. You should have bought the ported model.
It would make more sense to trade yours for a ported model, if that is what you want.

Anyone with an FFL can send your pistol to Mag-Na-Port and have the job done RIGHT. Actually you could SEND it yourself, you just need someone with an FFL to RECIEVE it back for you when it's finished. Mag-Na-Port INVENTED recoil-reduction-porting, and they are still the best.
