all the sugar in most energy drinks spike your blood sugar levels. So your body reacts to balance it out again. Then you can end up with low blood sugar which can leave you feeling tired. kind of like eating candy- you get a sugar high then feel that letdown.

It sounds like they are dropping your blood sugar. That's what alcohol does when you drink it. Could just be how your body is processing it. Wine makes me very sleepy, but a mixed drink...not so much even if I have it mixed in a sugary fruit juice. Blood sugar is a funny thing, sometimes hard to predict from one person to another depending on how the individual body reacts.

Because the caffeine is not good for you and you crash. It completely screws up your blood sugars, makes your heart race and makes your body think it's drinking sugar, even when it's artificial. VERY unhealthy.

If you get your body in line, you won't ever need an energy drink. My holistic doctor tests people and finds food lists for each individual, within 5 days of doing my individual food list, I felt amazing and after 3 years, I STILL never need anything for energy.

They cause a rapid increase in blood sugar and then once your body levels out, you sometimes get a rebound blood sugar low, which makes you tired, sleepy, and cranky.

Skip the energy drinks. They're not worth it.
