Take the cat to a shelter and surrender her if you can't afford to take care of her. Some vets will let you make payments it might take some calling around to find one. Try feeding her white rice and boiled chicken for a couple of days, then introduce her to dry kitten food with a little bit of water. I don't know what brand food you are feeding her, but I had a cat that could not eat cheap, store brand cat foods or ones with artificial coloring in them and she did the same thing as yours. At least buy her Purina kitten chow and get rid of the can. Please remember the responsibilities of pet ownership before you get another one. Good Luck.

Well, since a vet is out of the question and no one on yahoo answers can convince you to give him to a cat rescue... Get him a QUALITY food. Right now, it sounds like he desperately needs it. Blue buffalo is one of the best brands that is readdily available at most pet stores. Dont buy science diet or any brand that has the words cat "chow" cause its crap. Blue buffalo will help get him the protien he desperately needs. Also, dont switch it up too much. Get him some dry food and stick with it, no canned food... Its too rough on his body to switch it up right now. If you do want to give him the kitten milk for extra nutrients, mix the same ammount every day in her dry food. That way, hes still getting the nutrients but its also a stable, constant diet. You dont want his body working any harder than it has to. As for the tick problem, make sure the area stays clean. Use gentle antibacterial soap. Its prolly bald from him pawing and scratching at it. If theres an open wound, put a tiny bit of neo sporin on it (my vet told us neosporin is ok, just dont glob it on). Give him a bath and put some frontline on him. Even at his decreased weight, he will be okay with flea med. Make sure he always has water available. If he doesnt drink it, get a syringe without a needle (most vets or hospitals will just give you one or you can buy one) slowly squirt some in his mouth. obviously dont give him too much, just little bits at a time and only if hes not drinking on his own

Take a sample of that runny stool to the vets' office, she probably has parasites. Once the vet identifies and treats the parasites, I'll bet the diarrhea will clear up and she'll put on weight. She's way overdue for shots anyway, even indoor-only cats should have shots. Rabies at the bare minimum.
Find some money, or pick up some odd jobs with your neighbors. Owning pets is a responsibility.

She probably has worms, as cats from the street often have worms, fleas and ear mites. Try and find someway of affording a vet visit, as you will be doing her a great favor. And in several months she will need to be spayed and that is expensive, but so are kittens. If you really feel you cannot afford her, then take her to a no-kill shelter. The younger she is, the better the chance of finding a forever home for her.

You will have to take her to a veterinarian. Owning an animal is like having a child, you WILL have to give them medical care.
If she's a kitten shes probably never been dewormed. She will also need to be vaccinated for rabies and feline distemper and feline leukemia (Not all at once, theres an age thing your doctor will explain).
Call around. Maybe there is a SPCA wellness clinic near you. Or maybe you can find a vet who will work with you on payments or doesnt charge alot.

I would do a test and seperate the food.
When I had my dog Baliey I use to feed her hard food and she had no troubles with it but when I start giving her soft food she would have diarrhea all nite. In the end the only soft food she could handle was the soft cat food i would give to my cats. I think some of that stuff they put out animals will be alergic to. Also I have been where you are with pets but hun you need to find a way to take her in. (especially for a distemper shot which pops up easliy in kittens) Bargin wiht your phone company or borrown the money from a friend. Also call around some clinics will work with you on payments. Good luck.

She might have worms....take her to the vet, find a humanitarian place that could help you. She needs to be de-wormed. She may also have some gastric virus. Do not give her milk and give her only dry food. It may help. Make sure she drinks plenty of water. She may be dehyderated due to diarrhea.

Diarrhea can be deadly, you have to make sure she is drinking, or she will dehydrate. Your best bet is just to give her dry. A decent brand, keep her off the can until the poops stops. You really should bring here to the vet, if you can't afford it, see about payment arrangements, of give the kitten to somebody who will take care of it. Good Luck !!

There is no alternative to taking the cat to the vet. Either find a friend who can either loan you the money or take the cat in themselves, find a vet that will take payment plans, find a vet that has a "good sam" fund to treat abandoned animals (they will probably adopt it out) or take it to the humane society. There is obviously something wrong with your cat. If it is losing weight this is not just something that has been going on for several days - it sounds like she's been sick for awhile. She will die a slow painful death if she does not get medical attention and that is cruel. It is possible she just has worms or something but even that is not safe to treat at home, especially since she's already weak.
Please ignore the people who are suggesting to try a new food. Although that could help, if the cat is losing weight, she is already sick enough that she needs to be seen by a vet. You can feed her boiled chicken or chicken baby food, that is the gentlest thing on her stomach, until she goes to the vet.
