1/4 of a 25mg tablet or 1/2 teaspoon of childrens liquid. Dose is 1mg/lb. Do not give if the dog has glaucoma, prostate disease, heart problems, or hyperthyroidism. Can be given every 12 hours. Is used for mild allergic itching, insect bite reactions.

Benedryl is dosed for dogs at 1 mg. per pound of body weight. So a 6 pound dog should get 6 mg.

No more than 1/4 to 1/3 of an adult tablet.
My 20 lb. dachshund gets 1/2 a pill when he has an allergic rash - that is what you are dosing him for, no?

Call your vet to get the correct dosage. They prescribed one 25mg tablet for my 80lb German Shepherd when she had a skin allergy. I have no idea what the dosage would be for a little dog, since their metabolism is different. Don't just guess; if you overdose, it could have bad consequences!
