Complete nonsense.
Islam rejects the Christian teachings of Catholicism
Mohammed lived in the 7th cent AD.
The Byzantine Empire which controlled Jerusalem at that time was Catholic/Orthodox in communion with the Pope
This is the fantasy of an historically ignorant "conspiracy
theorist".
Catholics and Orthodox are the Christians who suffer the most from the persecutions of Islamist fanatics.
Islam rejects religious images because it rejects the Incarnation

Catholic.com was actually quoting a leaflet from Chick publications, a well-known anti-Catholic publication, and refuting it. You arre making assumptions which are not in the article. Catholic.com is a lay organization dedicated to the task of defending the Catholic faith from black propagandists and fundamentalists like Chick publications.
If there is any semblance of truth in what Chick publications says it would no doubt be in the history books.
Here are some more filthy claims chick.com mentioned in the said article. Judge for yourself if they are true.
The Catholic Church keeps "the name of every Protestant church member in the world" in a "big computer" in the Vatican for use in future persecutions.[1]
But the conspiracy is much broader than this, and it has been going on for a very long time. In the sixth century, for instance, Catholic leaders manipulated the Arabian tribesman Mohammed into creating the religion of Islam to use as a weapon against the Jews and to conquer Jerusalem for the pope.[2]
The Jesuits instigated the American Civil War, supporting the Confederate cause and seeking to undermine the Union. When they failed, they arranged the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.[3] Later, they formed the Ku Klux Klan.[4]
"Jesuits worked closely with Marx, Engels, Trotsky, Lenin, and Stalin" to create Communism, and it was "believed that soon . . . Communism would rise up as the new strong daughter of the Vatican."[5] It was Rome that instigated the Bolshevik Revolution and the murder of the czar’s family.[6] The Communist "liberation theology" movement also is a Vatican plot.[7]
The Nazi Holocaust of the 1940s was a Vatican-controlled attempt to exterminate Jews and heretics.[8] Further, "Hitler, Mussolini, and Franco were backed by the Vatican for the purpose of setting up a one-world government to usher in the ‘Millennial Kingdom’ under Pope Pius XII."[9]
The Vatican conspiracy is so extensive that, through the Jesuits, Rome controls the Illuminati, the Council on Foreign Relations, international bankers, the Mafia, the Club of Rome, the Masons, and the New Age movement.[10]
The Jesuits created the Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormonism, Unity, Christian Science, and other religious groups.[11]
"Pope John Paul II has been a good Communist for many years"[12] and engineered a phony assassination attempt against himself in 1981 to shame Islam into warming relations with the Vatican, since the would-be killer was a Muslim.[13]
May the Lord's peace be with you.

No.
This is one the outrageous claims of Chick Publications.
If we were to believe all that Chick Publications claim then we would believe the the Catholic Church:
+ Started Islam
+ Instigated the American Civil War
+ Assassinated Abraham Lincoln
+ Formed the Ku Klux Klan
+ Was responsible for the Inquisition known as the WWII Jewish Holocaust
+ Keeps every Christian's name in a computer in order to make persecution easier
Here is a detailed rebuttal to Chick's tracks: http://www.catholic.com/library/sr_chick_tracts_p1.asp
With love in Christ.

Wow.
"At the heart of Icke's theories is the view that the world is ruled by a secret group called the "Global Elite" or "Illuminati," which he has linked to The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, an anti-Semitic hoax.[3][4] In 1999, he published The Biggest Secret, in which he wrote that the Illuminati are a race of reptilian humanoids known as the Babylonian Brotherhood, and that many prominent figures are reptilian, including George W. Bush, Queen Elizabeth II, Kris Kristofferson, and Boxcar Willie."

If it was published by Chick Publications then it must be true.

No, there are no conspiracy theories 'in' the Catholic Church. there is not any shortage of conspiracy theories exterior the Catholic Church. <> Sorry to burst your bubble yet "The Da Vinci Code" and "Angels and Demons" are in basic terms right examples of conspiracy theories from exterior the Catholic Church. additionally, as the thank you to show out the glaring, the aforementioned works are FICTION.

Hi. I have done a recent study in my school on Islam. Islam was created by Mohammid himself and his own beliefs. The legend states that one time when he was meditaing in a cave an angel came upon him and told him to teach the religion. He was its founder and preached to his followers to get it going. Catholic leaders such as the pope were very against the religion and that was why ten crusades were fought.

Please cite your source. During all the Crusades, the Muslims and Jews were slaughtered out of hand by the momentary victors, the Christians. Wasn't Jerusalem in Muslim hands? Islam came to life several centuries before the first Crusades. Before I dismiss it as yet more Fundy holy-babytalk and Fundy nonsense, I'd really like to know your source.
Edit: Now you saw it was a lie at the start. Why? Why? It isn't clever. Are you an adult by chance?

You gave us the statement but I'd like to know the source of it. You always have to know the source to know if they are liable or not. I've never read this or heard anyone else state this. I am Catholic myself and have read many things about the earlier Church. And I have been reading about Islam for the past 2 yrs. Your statement is new to me. I doubt it's true. Even today's Muslims would disagree with it. Islam came into being after Muhammad's teachings.

Absplutely, no. Because Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) was sent by Allah (the only GOD) who sent all the previous prophets amd massengers whether to Jewish or to Christians. If you have any proof for your claim pleaes tell us. Furthermore, If Mohammed brought Islam from catholic Church, why is Islam different from christianity?
Cheers,
