I hooked up my stereo equipment in my new car I bought and the bass coming from the subs seems very weak. The amp and subs are the same one I had in my previous car. All the wires are new, I don't know if one of them are bad, or if I have a bad ground or something. Could it be the RCA cables? Their brand new though.

The bass output is affected by the vehicle in just about every installation, so it's not unusual to notice a difference in output in a different vehicle. If you're connected to a different head unit in the new vehicle, you may need to adjust your amp's gain setting. Also, you may have just re-connected one of the subs in the wrong polarity; try disconnecting one sub. If the bass is louder with a single sub than with two, then re-connect the second sub, but reverse the (+) and (-) wires.

The acoustic is different in every car. The ground would have nothing to do with this. It also depends on how you speakers are positioned. It would have nothing to do with your power output. What direction do you have your speakers? Is the box ported? Is your new car a hatchback or not. Or was your old car a hatchback?

Either the speakers are not kicking anymore or the amp is gone. Try a new amp.

Could it be because you've lost some of your hearing and it just seems like they aren't as loud?
